HAVE YOU GOT THE BALLS?  Above would be heaven not yet experienced; and below is heaven experienced! Do you have the balls for this? How courageous are you? What’s the most courageous thing you’ve done? I’m not particularly courageous, though I would stand up for my friends. When in a bar, I’m still waiting for a man to invite me outside to beat me up so I can say, “Why, do you want to kiss me?” Looking back, my most courageous acts happened when I was at school. At school, we had an arts society where we could get away with anything in the name of art. At one arts evening attended by teachers, I recited the Lord’s Prayer replacing certain words to suggest the headmaster was God. But I think what I thought was courageous then was just cheek. I think my most courageous act was to signal to the nurses to turn off the ventilating machine that was keeping my Mum alive, It’s something that I still regret while understanding why I did it!  |

I know that the most courageous thing I ever did was to turn off the machines that were keeping my husband alive. I have no regrets....he would not have thanked me for keeping him alive. You have my sympathies though.  ~~Anais Nin~~

I don't know if I would describe myself as courageous, but I will not be trifled with or allow anyone near me to be bullied What’s the most courageous thing you’ve done? I guess there have been a few things. Having been through so many conflicts, I guess I have been, even if it was by default

Do you have the balls for this? Sure! Why not? How courageous are you? Damn, you ask hard questions! I've done things other people might think is brave, or courageous, but they really aren't. I'll break up a dog fight barehanded, but I don't see that as brave- you just have to do it. If you get bitten, it'll heal. I've stuck up for co-workers, but I couldn't have lived with myself if I didn't, so that doesn't count either. I resisted the draft during the Vietnam War, but I don't see how I could have one otherwise. Honestly, I don't think I've ever been tested. What’s the most courageous thing you’ve done? Maybe leaving home when I was seventeen. I wasn't ready for it and I was scared but I hated it there and I had to go. I still don't think of it as especially courageous. It's kind of hard to think of myself in those terms- i don't really think they apply. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

I have taken a few to heaven... Courage...I would say I live a courageous life. Making hard choices, holding myself to standard. But I am very cheeky...usually during the toughest times.

I am sorry Love. We do what we have to do. I was thinking about my own mother today. I have been thinking about how her hair would have still been dark brown, except for just a very few gray hairs, if she hadn't lost it to the cancer treatments. How she had just turned 57, she was 57 years 1 mo and 6 days when she died, February 12, 1977, on Thursday it will be 38 years. This year I will be older than she was when she died. Sometimes I forget she is gone, especially when I was living far from home. I'd think, oh, I want to tell mom this or that and then remember I can't. I remember her being in the hospital bed in the living room for a long time and the last ten days in and out of a coma. At the end she woke and was very lucid for a brief period, she told us she had seen her mother, an uncle and her sister Stella, who drown at age 12 in the Ironton mine hole. My oldest sister was alone with mom at the end. I was staying with my sister's young children. Our little dog Terry, a terrier and dachshund mix, was with mom too. Josie told us, when mom passed, Terry started to dig at her and howled and howled.

I do not have the balls for this but I do have the mouth for the right people and as I have stated previously, I like to try to get both balls into my mouth at the same time. A lot of people have told me that because I live as a woman and have male anatomy, that I am very brave... I don't feel this to be true, I'm simply being the only me that I am capable of being. People will form their own opinion anyway. I feel I was being brave when I got my lip-piercings (labrets). I feel that I was at my bravest about 22 years ago when I intervened in a domestic violence incident and put myself in the way of serious physical harm. I'm still proud of having put myself in danger to protect a virtual stranger.

The decision was quite easy - my Mum wanted to die quickly (ie without a ventilator) and I wanted her to live for a few more days to die (ie with a ventilator(. I had to choose my Mum's wishes!
