NOT GOING OUT

Not Going Out is my favourite television show. It’s a sitcom; but slightly unusually for British sitcoms, it’s a very funny sitcom; The show is full of double entendres, a staple diet in British comedy.

The show stars Lee Mack, Sally Bretton and Tim Vine. It also regularly features other famous comedy actors such as Miranda Hart, Bobby Ball and Hugh Dennis. Not Going Out is based in a city centre apartment in London Docklands; it has a Frasier-esque feel about it.

Not Going Out’s storyline basically involves Lee Mack, a Northern working class 'bit of rough', trying to get off with Sally Bretton, a Southern middle class 'posh bird'. The closest Lee Mack came to getting off with Sally Bretton was an interrupted kiss under the mistletoe.

Above is the show’s mistletoe kiss scene. And below is what Lee Mack would like to do with Sally Bretton even if his cock gets broken!

The show would have to end if they ever got off!

Have you seen Not Going Out?
What is your favourite television show?
Are you ever attracted to a 'bit of rough' or a 'posh bird'?

I often get attracted to 'posh birds'; but sometimes there are looking for a 'bit of rough'! I also get attracted to a 'bit of rough' and, if they like 'a bit of posh', I may stand a chance!

1. No. Not really into these things normally, but I'll give it a go on your recommendation!
2. Don't really have one, other than Strictly.........
3. Hehe, I probably don't really like the extremes at either end of that particular spectrum, anything in between is rather splendid don't you think what?!?

Have you seen the Not Going Out? I have not, I don't think we get it here

What is your favourite television show? None in particular, I tend towards History Channel type documentaries

Are you ever attracted to a 'bit of rough’ or a ‘posh bird’? I think some where in the middle, both "types" have redeeming qualities

I have to seen this show. I don't watch much TV. I like a strong quiet Dom type.

Engaging the English to American translator

Not never seen the show - favorites are silly comedies like Big Bang, New Girl (Zooey Deschanel - yummm!!), Modern Family, or Mindy Project.

It is all about variety!

Happy HNW.

I've watched most of the episodes and I've enjoyed them. I did miss Tim Vine in the last series though.
I don't mind a bit of rough with the smooth.

Have you seen the Not Going Out?
No, but I might now that I know Miranda Hart is on it.

What is your favourite television show?
My favorite? That's tough. But I've been watching 'Nova' on PBS for over forty years- I guess that would make it my favorite.

Are you ever attracted to a 'bit of rough’ or a ‘posh bird’?
My wife tells me I AM a bit of a rough. Posh birds? I've enjoyed a few. But I like a girl with some brains, and a gentle disposition.

I've never seen the show.

My favourite would be hard to pick....QI, Downton Abbey and Mrs Brown are all good with me.

I've had my share of rough....when I was young enough to cope with it lol!!!

I hope you like Not Going Out. I find it very funny - class, puns and unrequited love, a magical formula!

I haven't seen 'Going Out'... Even if it ever gets picked up by an aussie tv channel, I am unlikely to watch it. Lee Mack irritates me and it looks like the only drawcard for me is Miranda Hart.

My favourite television show is probably Jonathan Creek with Alan Davies and preferably with Caroline Quentin, not Julia Sawalha.

I would always go for rough over posh... Their bodies are more hewn and they don't look down their nose or use their money to control.
If you don't like Lee Mack, you won't like Not Going Out.

I hope you get a chance to watch Not Going Out, though Lee Mack is more wimp than dom in the show.

American and British English are slowly becoming different languages. I always try and be transAtlantic in my blogs but it clearly failed this time!

There's more television channels to choose from, but it doesn't seem much of a choice to me!

Miranda Hart is massive here. I don't quite know why, but I'm not a big fan of her comedy.
