J'ACCUSE ...!  “J’Accuse …!” was a letter published on the front page of the French newspaper L’Aurore on 13 January 1898. The letter was penned by the French writer Émile Zola. He accused the French President Félix Faure of anti-semitism over the unlawful jailing of the Jewish French army officer, Alfred Dreyfus, who was imprisoned for spying but later cleared of the charge of treason. Émile Zola, on being found guilty of libel by a French court after writing this letter, fled to England. From Alfred Dreyfus to Charlie Hebdo! There’s an irony in France. Yep, times change, I do remember reading a lot of that Dreyfus scandal, J'accuse could really not mean anything else! (Well I don't read French newspapers, watching their news only sometimes but could think j'accuse is kind of trademark, not to be used in other connections in French speaking world).
