FROM NOODLING TO DOODLING  Noodling is fishing for catfish using only bare hands. Mainly practiced in the southern United States, noodling is also known as cat-fisting, cat-daggling, dogging, gurgling and tickling. Above is 19 year-old Lucy Millsap hoisting a 72-pound catfish on her way to being crowned the 2014 champion of the annual Okie Noodling Tournament where the contestants have 24 hours to catch the largest catfish using only their bare hands. I’ve never come across noodling, never mind being a noodler. But I am a prolific doodler. My doodles tend to be conwebs and stick-men (though not quite in the style of H S Lowry's matchstick men - see below). I tend to doodle most in boring work meetings. I've never even heard of noodling let alone done it!! I love doodling though....spent most of my school life doodling and a lot of my working life lol!!! My doodles usually involve elaborate patterns. Nothing sexy though. ~~Anais Nin~~

Have you ever noodled? Not intentionally. I once caught a wee fish in the ocean inside the top of my bathing suit. Are you a doodler? If so, what do you doodle? Yes-- mainly flowers, trees My Dad could draw very well and so does my sister, all of have artistic abiltity. I stopped drawing by the time I was a teenager. I can say that I have never 'noodled' but I love stir-fry with noodles rather than rice. Have I ever doodled? I'm an architect at heart, so of course I have, usually complex geometrical patterns that look like something inside a kaleidoscope. Dirty doodles need to be washed urgently... LOL I have drawn the occasional sexual doodle, usually not genitalia but sexual acrobatics.
