FUCK SONY, WHAT ABOUT CLINTONS CARDS?
FUCK SONY, WHAT ABOUT CLINTONS CARDS? Above is a Christmas card recently withdrawn from sale by Clintons Cards, one of Britain's leading greeting cards retailers. For those not familiar with the term, a council estate is an area of state-provided housing rented to low-income people in the UK. At the time of the Christmas card’s launch, Clintons Cards announced that this “funny card is great for sending at Christmas time.” But after much criticism, Clintons Cards announced that it was “a mistake” and withdrew the card from sale. However, the UK government believes that the North Korean government are behind the card’s withdrawal from general release after it hacked into Clintons Cards' computers, released private conversations about famous people who buy their cards and threatened violence to any shops selling the card! The Americans may be dealing with the fallout from Sony’s decision not to release the film The Interview, but the British are dealing with far greater fallout from Clintons Cards’ decision not to sell the Christmas card! Do you send Christmas cards? If you send Christmas cards, do you send cards only to those who send you a card? Also, if you send cards, do you special Christmas cards for special people? My parents used to operate an elaborate system of a Christmas card in meant a Christmas card out! I tend to send a Christmas card to anyone who I remotely know. My parents also used to buy nice Christmas cards for the people they really liked and cheap nasty cards for the people they just liked. I do that as well! I haven’t sent my Christmas cards yet. But this year some of my usual recipients of Christmas cards will not be getting a Christmas card from me because they didn’t send me a card last year. Revenge is a dish best served cold; that’ll tell the fuckers not to fuck with me! |

1. No, I send goodwill in other ways. 2. I send a wee update on projects. 3. Hehe, no, sorry. I'm looking for a wee favour my dear pal? Can you keep the blog post of the week going for the next couple of weeks please? I'm not around much, and I'm afraid it might die on its arse otherwise? No worries if not, I'll not be offended if you're otherwise engaged. Hope ye have a great time!

That Christmas card deserves to be pulled....how dare the makers!! I only send a couple cards that a specifically chosen! I see most relatives over the holiday, so no need to send card.

Yes I send cards. I have a list of people I send them to and don't care if I get one from them or not. I choose cards carefully.....and they would be personalised for family like (to my granddaughter, grandson, daughter etc.....If they live far away there would also be a handwritten catch up letter and maybe a couple of photos in it if they are not on FB. ~~Anais Nin~~

I once made the mistake of giving my mother a simple pen and ink style card. The card stock was white, the ink black. The front had a picture of a woman sketched out without coloring or shading, just eyes and the typical features, sitting in the dark. On the inside was some quip about enjoying your birthday while sitting in the dark so you don't see the dust. While I thought this was hysterically funny and she would see the humor and relate, she melted down and recalled the card several years later. "You gave me a card with a woman with grey hair!" It was a black and white sketch. I still marvel that it wasn't the unkempt look of the woman or the fact that the implication was that she didn't clean that got her. She seems to have missed the obvious. Do I send Christmas cards? No. (I obviously make mistakes when picking out cards)

Och, all that needs doing I think is to remind KitKat and maybe her nominee that they need to nominate someone. I'm not sure that MrEroticthingydoof will do it, so it's supposed to fall back to KittKat. But if neither of them do it, would you mind terribly assumng the mantle please? I'll be forever in your debt....... Y, feliz.....................

Everyone getting the same card is very egalitarian and even socialist!

It's always a wise move to send Xmas cards to relatives as you may end up being a beneficiary in their wills!

Xmas cards are a way of keeping in touch with some friends who I don't regularly see mainly because of distance.

I failed miserably to send Xmas cards this year - I ran out of time or rather I didn't make the time to send them. No one has complained though!

Hahahaha... I read the card and in spite of living in state - provided housing, found it hilarious. I can't believe there are people out there with a stick up their arse about this sort of thing. Lighten - up already! I do send/give christmas cards to people I am fond of (if I have their address). I have often send/given cards to people who have never sent me one. See, vfg64, I do have some christmas spirit. Special people who are always lovely towards me will get an individually purchased christmas card (usually costing about $5), especially those who I like. Most others will receive one from a multi-pack (10 cards for $6.99 types, I don't often give cheaper than this but have gone as low as the 12 for $4.99 ones on a year when my finances are stretched)... I know it's just a card, but lovely people deserve a lovely card, that's just how I am and the ultra cheap cards are often horrible-looking. I don't bother to send a card to anyone who I wouldn't consider worthy of a card that was worth less than 40cents. In australia, we can get very cheap, nasty cards that cost as little as 10cents each but they even look really cheap and insulting.
