JESUS ON TOAST  Improbable Research is an organisation that awards the Ig Nobel Prizes, the alternative to the more austere Nobel prizes. An Ig Nobel Prize is awarded to reward research that “makes people laugh and then think.” This year, the winner of the Ig Nobel prize for neuroscience went to a group of Canadian and Chinese scientists, who together researched why people claim to see Jesus Christ on their toast. The researchers found that people who claim to see Jesus Christ on their toast do so because they wanted to or have been suggested to see Jesus Christ on their toast. Our eyes are the least reliable sense we have but we rely most on what we think our eyes see. It’s a terrible combination! Have you ever seen Jesus Christ on toast or on anything else? I like my toast well done (almost burnt) and served with lots of butter; and I like cheese, marmalade (either lime or thick-cut orange) and baked beans best on toast. Dripping on toast was one of my Dad’s favourite, but I’ll pass on that one! I think I’ve seen Jesus Christ on my bedroom blinds, but below is what I see every time I make toast! This is proof … that my eyes deceive!  |

I need to have my eyes checked! No matter how I try, nobody appears on my food! I did see a unicorn once on a cloud...but I was high...in a plane... I like my toast toasted. Mixed fruit jelly, butter or turkey and gravy.

I always dreaded what was dripping on my toast when offered it as a kid. But I was always told it was leftover fat from cooked meat!

I have never seen jesus on toast but as a very young child there was a spot on my bedroom wall where I could have sworn that the worls of paint created the image of the last supper as it is represented in Raphaelite art. I'm not sure that I had ever seen an official image of the last supper at the time and had no idea about Raphaelite art. At the time, I was only about 2 and had not ever received any religious instruction... There were no bibles (or any other books in the house. The monster that gave birth to me is illiterate). I like my toast a very medium colour. My favourite things to put on toast are ginger marmalade or honey or baked beans with melted cheese but will often eat raisin toast and I like that with nothing on it. Just wash it down with lots of coffee.

Have you ever seen Jesus Christ on toast or on anything else? on my wrist--If you look at my profile picture you can see Our Lord of the Burnt Wrist if you look closely. How do you like toast done? well done What are your three most favourite things to put on toast? butter, jelly/jam, marmalade-- lemon or orange, damn near anything except that marmite shite I burned myself recently with hot oil. A spoonful of oil splashed out the pan. The main burn is over one inch and the splatter goes up my fore arm about 5 inches. I am terribly accident prone. When Tom came home, I had a huge bandage around my wrist. After convincing him that I learned my lesson and I didn't do THAT again (they tell me it is a very bad sin), he still wondered if I needed to go to the hospital. Tonight the image of Our Lord has appeared there, you know, like it appears on toast and potato chips and ordinary things like that, well now it's on my wrist (underside). Unless I turn my arm this way, and then it looks like a bear paw with claws or if I turn it that way it looks like one of the ghosts from pacman. You know, like those cracker jack toys, the kind you turn this way or that way and the image changes. Do you think it will leave a scar? Maybe its the stigmata. Do the wounds have to appear on their own or do you suppose it counts if you have inflicted the wounds yourself, how about by accident? I will let you know if it starts to bleed and will report further another time. It could be the end times you know. I am barmy, barking mad, off the rails, now you know. But you already figured that out. And what's wrong with lime marmalade?

..I like toast slightly burned.........a custom I learned from a friend of mine in England was to put my toast on my tea to keep it warm..... I like peanut butter on my toast......and I like butter with kosher salt or I like it with lime marmalade........ Blue.......
