TODAY IS ALSO MEN’S DAY

TODAY IS ALSO MEN’S DAY  As well as being World Toilet Day, it’s also International Men’s Day. Is someone, like the United Nations, taking the piss? The authorities are trying to turn International Men’s Day into a ’s day or a women’s day. I don’t think this day is really about celebrating men, whatever being a man means. Will you be celebrating International Men’s Day? Do men give anything positive to the world? What does a man mean to you?  |

This is the first I ever heard of "Men's Day" or "Toilet Day"!

I wonder how many men will take the coincidence of it being both World Toilet Day and International Men's Day as implicit permission to leave the toilet seat up.  Will you be celebrating International Men’s Day? No more than any other day I'm happy to be a man, unless a special woman feels she should help me have a special celebration. Do men give anything positive to the world? Men have given the world an almost endless number of positive things to the world, but unfortunately, the number of negative things men have given the world is quite long as well. What does a man mean to you? To be a protector for those who need it, to provide a friendly shoulder for someone to lean on or to cry on and to provide comfort for them, to provide advice to my children and grandchildren as well as to others who may ask, and to do my small part to show that the world could be a better place if we were to treat others with the respect and courtesy they deserve as fellow human beings.

Men and women have different characteristics which at their best complement each other and at their worst are a disaster. I think there should be a designated International Leave The Toilet Seat Up Day (or even Month)!

I found out about International Men's Day a day late, so not this year. Men give/bring many positive things to the world, because beyond being architects, women do not play a huge part in construction, we have men to thank for the structures we occupy... Men make up a larger proportion of inventors (sometimes inspired by female muses)... Men pioneered air travel and they can be very comforting to have around when one is in need of a shoulder to cry on, unless the man in a woman's life has a heart like a lump of coal. A man means the sexier half of humanity to me but they can be great friends and lovers when they care to be.
