TUESDAY TITS-FOR-TATS  Last week the poetic and erotic blogger, grayblue1, challenged me to do a tits for Tuesday post. This is my response to his challenge, or at least my interpretation of his challenge! Tit-for-tat is a phrase to signify the exchange of reciprocal actions between people. The exchanges can be both positive (eg smiles, compliments, presents) or negative (eg glares, insults, punishments) in nature. Tit-for-tat is a very simple but a highly effective strategy in many situations involving people. Game theorists have conducted many simulated experiments demonstrating that tit-for-tat can explain many instances of cooperation and conflict. I suspect there’s quite a lot of tit-for-tat in blogland - I’ll follow your blog if you follow my blog; I’ll comment on your blog if you comment on my blog; I’ll stop following you if you stop following me; and so on. Tit-for-tat can enhance cooperative relationships, but they can also exacerbate conflictual relationships. It’s amazing, given the limitations of online communication, that there are not more tit-for-tat conflicts in blogland. Revenge is a manifestation of tit-for-tat. Some people believe that ‘revenge is a dish best served cold’, more satisfying if exacted when unexpected after time has elapsed from the initial offence. Are you a tit-for-tat person? How forgiving are you? How vengeful are you? Have you exacted revenge as ‘a dish best served cold’? I’m definitely a tit-for-tat person when it comes to building relationships, both offline and online. I’m less tit-for-tat if relationships are becoming conflictual as the endgame of tit-for-tat rarely benefits anyone. I’m quite forgiving. Once at a party, I went up to someone who went to my school and who fancied himself as a hard man at school, and, as a joke, I said I always thought that that I could beat him up. He duly started to beat me up by throttling me. My friends had to prise his hands from my neck. Afterwards, I wanted revenge. Still fuming after a few days, I went to a local market and purchased a pig’s head which I was going to post to my party strangler. In the end with a bit of persuasion from my friends, I decided to let it go as things would have just got out of hand. Later I heard he bit the nipple off his girlfriend! As I’m a tit-for-tat person, I’ve just posted 20 tits and I expect 20 tats back. And no, I don’t want a sack of potatoes back!          |

Am I a tit - for - tat person? It depends upon the situation but usually ignore. How forgiving am I? Again, it depends upon what is done and how much malice was inferred or involved but generally not very forgiving. How vengeful am I? I lack the position and resources to be vengeful, it's probably best it stays that way but it is part of why I tend not to forgive. I tend not to see restitution for bad things done to me. I may become a poltergeist after my life is over to receive satisfaction for the wrongs done to me in life.
