A WISE BIRD AND A NIGHTMARE

Above is a tawny owl bringing a freshly-caught field mouse to her owlets. I was fascinated by this photograph, which was published in my daily newspaper, as it captured both life and death in the wonderful world of nature.

However, last night I had a nightmare and this photograph appeared in my dream. In my dream, I was starving in a dense forest. This tawny owl came to my rescue by offering me his field mouse that he had caught. Too scared to accept and eat the mouse, the owl flew away to leave me to my fate in the dark forest.

Normally I don’t remember my dreams and, if I do remember, it’s only a few fragments that I can recall.

Also, I’m not convinced that we can read our dreams. I think there is an explanation (or explanations) for our dreams but I don’t believe that humans are capable of interpreting them in a credible manner.

When was the last time you dreamt a nightmare?
Do you remember your dreams?
Do you think dreams can be convincingly interpreted?

In much ancient mythology, the owl is seen to symbolise wisdom, even though their brains are relatively small for their size. In English folklore, the owl had a more sinister reputation of representing misfortune and even evil.

When was the last time you dreamt a nightmare? It has been a long time.

Do you remember your dreams? Not often, usually is just a sense of what it was about

Do you think dreams can be convincingly interpreted? I don't really think so

I'm quite pleased I don't remember most of my dreams.

On balance, I'm pleased I don't remember my dreams. If I did, I'd spend too much time thinking about them.

Sex dreams can be very frustrating and confusing.
I'd have loved to have witnessed the conversation if you had told your high school girlfriend that you had a sex dream about her in the store.

Your dream clearly tells me that you are one bad woman!

I've never yet woken up in a sweat after a dream. It must have been some dream!

For me, I think it's best not to remember dreams, otherwise I'd be trying to understand them.

At least dreams happen unlike what horoscopes say will happen.

    A few nights ago.

I do fairly often... I used to keep a dream/nightmare diary.

Some interpretations are very accurate but the person doing the interpreting has to be very knowledgeable regarding subliminal symbolism... If interpreted too literally, they are often wrong.
Your dream/nightmare diary would be an interesting read ... and worthy of a blog post?

I think your interpretation of dreams is very valid.
