SMALL MAN IN A BOX

SMALL MAN IN A BOX

Above is the Maria Sharapova, a top female tennis player, with a small man in her box.

Rob Brydon is an English comedian, whose most famous act is to impersonate a man trapped in a box. It’s very funny (well, I think it’s funny) - look it up on YouTube. He gets fed up with people always asking him to do this impersonation - see below.

Last weekend I watched the ’s film, The Borrowers - see below; it was scary! The film is based on the 1952 novel written by Mary Norton, which tells the story of a group of tiny people who secretly live in a house and ‘borrow’ things to survive.

The main characters in the book and film are only about three inches tall. They run the risk of being found by humans, but they can generally live without being detected.

If I was only three inches tall and had to choose someone’s home to live in, it would be a toss-up between Buckingham Palace and the White House, though 10 Downing Street and the Kremlin would be interesting.

But as I’m a total power-groupie, I would be a fly-on-the-wall in the White House to see what Barack Obama gets up to.

If you could be a fly-on-the-wall in someone else’s home, whose home would you choose?
If you've read or seen The Borrowers, did you find it scary?

I have not seen the "Borrowers"! Maybe on your wall, as long as you don't have a fly swatter!

As I would be a fly and unable to effect what was going on around me, I would choose a brothel. At least then I could get off occasionally. LOL

I have seen the Borrowers. It was ...interesting. I think it bordered on creepy.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I would choose the home of someone who was unlikely to notice a fly and try to swat me.

I haven't seen The Borrowers... Maybe one day.
Some of the Borrowers got caught by humans; one even was put into a mincing machine!

I've only seen The Borrowers films; I've not read the book.

Hugh Hefner's wall would be good one for a fly, particularly back in the 1960s and 1970s.

A brothel would be a brilliant choice for a fly as everyone should to be too busy to swat the fly!

Thanks. I thought it was quite creative but, in terms of comments received, it was my least popular blog I've posted for a long time!

Was the mincing machine Julian Clary or one that grinds steak into mince?
Thankfully it was a steak mincing machine and not Julian Clary's mincing machine!
