BLOW-UP DOLLS  For the last ten years there has been an annual Bubble Baba Challenge in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk in Russia. The challenge involves hundreds of people trying to swim across the Ob river with an inflatable sex doll. This challenge was thought up Dmitry Bulawinov as a joke at a party where men turned up and got drunk but no women showed up - a very common experience when you’re younger! But recently, and because of rising river levels and a dodgy bridge, plus after complaints from the Russian Orthodox Church, the challenge has been banned by the authorities. Sex with a blow-up doll conjures up strange images. I’m a liberal so fucking a doll is okay, but a wank must surely be better. I’m being judgemental, which is not liberal. I find America fascinating with its mix of values from liberal to conservative. Most of Western Europe is social democratic, but generally more liberal than conservative until it comes to so-called terrorism.
