VERTIGO
VERTIGO How are you with heights? I’m okay up to a point. I’ve been up the World Trade Centre and looked down on a glass walkway to the pavement below. That was a fantastic experience, as I wondered about Isaac Newton’s laws of gravity stating that it takes the same time for anything, whether a feather, a coin or a grand piano, to reach the ground when dropped from a great height. But there are limits with heights for me. The last time I reached my limit was when I visited Ireland’s magnificent Cliffs of Moher - see below. I could not stand at the edge of the cliffs; I had to lie down and edge my way to see the sheer descent to the swirling sea underneath. But I’d still love to see the America’s Grand Canyon, Malaysia’s Petronas Towers and Venezuela’s Angel Falls (see below) to experience heights. Those bloody mountain goats and skyscraper workers shouldn’t have all the thrills! How are you with heights? Not counting flying, what’s the highest you’ve been? Have you ever gone bungee jumping? And if not, would you? I would love to go bungee jumping. I also like the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock-directed thriller film, Vertigo, starring James Stewart and Kim Novak |

I hate heights I tremble when I fly! I have been at the base of the CN tower and looked "up"!

I hate heights....probably the highest I have ever been is the 12th floor of a building but I was inside and didn't look out. Never been bungee jumping. ~~Anais Nin~~

1. Not good at all. 2. Do hills count? If so 16,000ft. Otherwise, if a building, probably the World Trade Centre too. 3. Nope, no chance. I'd be exactly the same as you on those cliffs, hands and knees then flat on my front!

I'm in total admiration about your bungee jump. The closest I got was at a local village fete when I was determined to do it, but didn't; it was only a 100 feet!

You make me want to to go the Grand Canyon even more. We don't have canyons here!

Thanks for correcting me. I always get confused with vertigo and acrophobia. And thanks for stopping by.

With heights, like you, I'm much better inside a building than outside on a cliff.

You were brave going up the CN Tower if you don't like heights. I'd love to go up the CN Tower.

...I worked high construction most of my life ...so the heights are more of an adventure than fear....I flew helicopters up to just a few months ago...so I have been high..... ..I would go bungee jumping if I was tied together with Mrs sweet V.... Blue....

I'm not good with heights... Probably the 35th level of an office block but no closer than 15ft/5mtrs from the windows. I have never been bungee-jumping and am very unlikely to.

Manhattan is a brilliant place to visit. It's one of the few places I've been to where it's just like it is in the films.
