A SHORT POST  I always try to write a short post but I invariably fail to achieve this mission. I start off compiling a post with a clear mission, and then mission creep happens. I just can’t seem to keep to my brief; everything seems to connect and everything gets thrown in. In this post, I am determined to post a short post. Above is a heron on a long post, and below is my short post! Do you prefer reading shorter or longer posts? Do you like seeing images with text in a blog post? What makes you read and comment on a blog post? I like reading short or long posts; it all depends on the content, my mood and how much time I have. I do enjoy seeing an image with a blog post because, as the cliché goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. This post is already longer than planned! I can’t do it. Do you have any tips for me to write a short post?  |

I read all posts...but when I have a sea of yellow, I leave the longer ones to the end. Images aren't important, but sometimes they go with the post. I like to read what others have to say, or what is on their mind. I try to comment on every post, but sometimes I am at a loss for words, or I don't have something appropriate to say!

When I have fallen behind because I been away for a few days I like shorter post so I can get in and out and onto the next blogger.. I am in this boat right now.. Next week for me is busy.. on a golf road trip to the mainland.. hugssss V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

People relate to pictures What makes you read and comment on a blog post? Sometimes it is the blogger or the topic. I normally comment on all post that in my watchers list. I do enjoy reading your posts. They are usually informative, inquisitive and general in good spirits. I often wonder where you find your blog fodder. Long or short, keep them coming.

It doesn't bother me if they're short or long posts....so long as I can read them. A long post with no paragraphs will see me running for the hills because I lose concentration!!! I like images if they relate to the subject matter of the post but they're not essential for me. What makes me read and comment on a pots. I read all the posts on my watched list....even if I have fallen a bit behind like now....I comment often but don't leave a comment if I feel I have nothing to add. Sometimes a title in the recent posts list will draw me in to read it but I rarely comment on new blogs....it takes me a while to feel comfortable enough to comment.  ~~Anais Nin~~

I don't mind a long post as long as it isn't more than 40 lines long and deals fairly closely with a particular subject. Very few people enjoy reading an incoherent ramble and to your credit, you have a habit of staying on topic. Seeing images is nice but not necessary to a post in order to draw my attention. For me to read a post and leave a comment, the topic needs to be interesting or relatable to me and it helps if the blogger asks a question or a few to respond to but it's not essential to include questions, even moreso if the post is basically one long question. It also helps a lot if I feel rapport of some sort with the blogger or that I can offer support or an unusual insight. To write a short post. Just express an opinion, briefly stated and invite feedback.  Alternatively, tell a quick one-line funny.

There is a fine balance between a too short and a too long post but, as you say, if a post is interesting then length is not such an issue.

Short paragraphs are essential, otherwise reading a long unparagraphed post reads like a stream of unconsciousness. I often give up reading well before the end. I love that you can talk for Italy in your posts.

Content is key with posts, but paragraphs are important if a post is on the longer side. I always respond to comments though I wait for a few days before responding.

I like both short and long posts. The length should suit the subject being covered. There is no reason to labour a point and no reason to cut short explanations - UNLESS it is done deliberately for effect. Images are nice. They tend to make for a lighter tone - not always needed or wanted. I read nearly everything written by people on my watched list. I comment when I have something to say (which, to be fair, is often). Master the art of Haiku.

Yes, I like at least one image with the post is great in my book in the general theme of the post! What makes you read and comment on a blog post? If people come on my blog and comment I usually return the favor and post on their blogs post if I feel I can post about whatever the post is about!

I think I am attracted by the head line in the post! And if the rest of the post follows through on topic I usually read it to the end. Sometimes the text is so small I really if I would read it I would just get a headache! While I am reading something usually pops into my mind for a comment but not always! After I read a post if nothing pops into my head then I don't leave a comment! The post didn't speak to me so I have nothing to say in return! That's the way it works for me most of the time but not always!
