Above is Orlando Duque, a Colombian high diver. In August 2013, he dived from a helicopter into New York’s harbour just 25 metres from the Statue of Liberty.

Splash! is a British television series in which so-called celebrities are trained to dive by the Olympic medallist, Tom Daley, and then compete in a weekly diving contest until the best diver, as judged by the public, is declared the winner.

In 2014, Penny Mordant was one of the celebrities taking part in Splash! - see below. She is a Conservative MP and a junior minister in the present Conservative-led Coalition Government.

On television, Penny Mordant managed to perfect the extremely difficult belly flop dive - see below. Ouch!

Have you ever gone tombstoning?

I’m no expert diver but I can manage a dive from the side of a swimming pool and maybe even from an ‘unspringy’ springboard. I’ve never dived from a high board. And I’ve never tombstoned from a cliff or pier vertically into the sea.

 Always been a good swimmer but didn't really care for driving.. I had to do it for the Military on our adventure training and it wasn't fun! You do what you have to do.. hugssssssssss V

No tombstoning for me!

 I'm a good swimmer but was never very fond of diving....so I really only dive from the side of the pool....I don't like heights at all. No tombstoning ever.

    No tombstoning for me!
My only experience of military training was when I was an army cadet. The army trainers made us go caving underwater and stay overnight without shelter on a desolate moor!

Diving from the side of a pool suits me fine as well.
