WHAT’S WRONG WITH ANCHOVY?  Birds Eye, the multinational frozen food company, commissioned a poll of 1,000 people to find out Britain’s most unpopular foods. From the survey, the ten most disliked foods were: 1. Anchovies 2. Chicken liver 3. Black pudding 4. Olives 5. Blue cheese 6. Goat’s cheese 7. Avocado 8. Brussels sprouts 9. Salami 10. Mushrooms These findings surprised me, especially as I like eating all of these foods except chicken liver and goat’s cheese. That must mean I’m not normal! My worst three-course meal that I could be served would be mussels (or whitebait) as a starter, steak and kidney pie as the main dish, and coffee (or any) cheesecake as the dessert. My dream meal would be prawn cocktail, fillet steak (with French fries, glazed carrots, mushrooms and a lashing of English mustard), and bread and butter pudding with custard. The Birds Eye survey also found that women were fussier eaters than men. Nine per cent of women surveyed even admitted to stuffing food in their handbag if they didn’t want to eat it! What is wrong with eating anchovy? Well, that is very easy for me! I had just a minuscule taste of something that had anchovies in it last night while I was preparing dinner, and my lips started to swell up like balloons (I didn't realize the product had it in there until a second after I tasted the sauce)... what is wrong with them is that it would kill me  ...

I'm not a fussy eater at all. My favourite meal would be roast lamb with baby potatoes peas and carrots and lashings of mint sauce followed by raspberries and cream. My least favourite would be anything involving liver....YUCK!! I don't eat anchovies.... ~~Anais Nin~~

Are you a fussy eater? Yes! What would be your best and worst three-course meals you could be served with? Best would steak and baked potatoes with all the trimmings! Worst would be an anchovy sandwich!  I promise I won't serve you an anchovy sandwich if you visit Nottingham!

I'm a very fussy eater... I won't touch anchovies, chicken livers, black pudding, olives, blue cheese, goat's cheese, avocado, Brussels sprouts or mushrooms (except the pink, throbbing variety, lol) but I love salami. I won't eat most nuts, won't touch asparagus but love broccoli and spinach and cabbage but won't do cauliflower. My best 3 course meal would be a creamy chicken and corn soup served with crusty bread as entree, roast pork with crackling served with steamed broccoli, glazed julienned carrots and roast potatoes as main course and mint chip chocolate mousse served with strawberries and blueberries dusted with confectioners sugar. Washed down with a very large iced mocha. My worst 3 course meal would be anything containing offal, mushrooms, shellfish, radishes, leeks, squash, turnips, parsnips, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, lamb (I am a conscientious abstainer due to mulesing), most cheeses make me gag, beluga, blue vein, havarti, fetta etc... Won't touch sago/tapioca, rhubarb or chocolate ice cream (I can't eat it without my fluffy boy to share it with, it was his favourite).

I've learned never to ask what's in wontons! I'm not a fan of couscous either; it's vastly over-rated. If I want to eat wheat, I'll have a bowl of Weetabix!

Black pudding is a blood sausage made from pig's blood mixed with oatmeal. It's a great accompaniment to a fried breakfast.

I'll eat offal if served up as pate, though I do like liver and bacon with mash potatoes and gravy.

I like butter beans, though I prefer broad beans. Liver (with bacon and onions) and black pudding are tasty as well. I had to look up what culchie meant!
