BERNIE IS INNOCENT

I’m slowly recovering from a rant after watching today’s news. I’m just disgusted how the rich and powerful evade justice while the poor and powerless face the brunt of injustice.

Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One racing supremo and the fourth richest man in Britain, has just paid a ‘bribe’ to get off bribery charges in a German court. He has offered £60 million ($100 million) to the German government, including a $1m to a German 's hospice charity, for the bribery charges to be dropped with no implied guilt recorded in his case. Ecclestone’s offer has been accepted by the German authorities.

Ecclestone was charged for paying a ‘bribe’ of $44 million to a German banker to keep his job. He admitted to paying the money but said it wasn’t a bribe. But now Ecclestone is prepared to pay over twice that amount to keep his job.

Above is a photo of Bernie Ecclestone, four years ago, after being mugged for £200,000. He’s just mugged everyone! Sorry, I forgot that Bernie is innocent.

Do you think you should be able to pay your way out of criminal charges?
Do you ever rant after watching the television news?

Sorry for the rant! I know it’s a sex site. I could have titivated this post up with a picture of Bernie Ecclestone’s posing topless. Oh fuck it, I will! Here's innocent Tamara Ecclestone, or is it Audrey Hepburn with her tits out?

He's nearly as innocent as a Tory, no wait, he is a tory.

Who said justice is free? Ernie's cost him €100, bloody bargain eh?

But no, hang on a minute, isn't that a pic of his doppleganger, Tony Blackburn?

1. Nope, it is infuriating, he has bribed his way out of bribery........
2. All the bloody time.

No I don't think anyone should be able to buy themselves out of any charge....and in a way it proves his guilt. And why are the German Government accepting the bribe....fecking whores!

I often rant after watching the news on TV....that's probably why it isn't on as often as it might be!

I think it's hilarious that you can bribe your way out of a bribery charge

Yes it's wrong, yes F1 is corrupt, yes it's obscene that he's worth 2 billion...

But he's 83 and no number of big titted wives will keep him around for much longer!

It's only a crime if those in power decide it's a crime... don't you know.

The German court, has just set a new low in terms of legal precedence.

This sort of thing happens all the time but I still can't think this puts us back to the Dark Ages...

Perhaps Bernie Ecclestone and Tony Blackburn are brothers!
The German bank has just rejected Ecclestone's offer so he's not quite in the clear yet.

No, anyone who breaks the law should suffer the penalty regardless of who they are and how much money they have or their "connections".

I almost always rant after seeing the news... I'm a morning, noon and night ranter. I sometimes have to give myself a few days off from paying any attention to the news or I'd start smashing shit up, starting with my tv.

Then I'd have nothing to watch my DVDs on.
I think it would be great if those being reported in the news could see us all ranting at them while watching television!

Governments who accept huge sums of money to treat cashed-up lawbreakers as innocent, are just whores!
Though the German authoritries have acceopted Ecclestone's offer, the German bank involved has just rejected his offer. Presumably they want more money from Ecclestone rather than seeing him go to jail.

I have mostly given up watching television news as I find the gross simplifications and deliberate distortion to be hugely upsetting.

I get my news via Radio 4 in the morning and evening when I'm busy driving. That way, I can avoid being upset - unless it's Sarah Montague doing an interview...

Even then, I try not to believe what they say as we are never given the full picture. Anyone wanting to see just how distorted the news coverage is should spend a little while following it on several channels. I find Al Jazeera to be good for some things but not others and certainly not for unbiased coverage of Middle Eastern affairs.

To be fair to the media - at least we know that Bernie has bought himself out of a criminal conviction. It wasn't that long ago that we, the public, would not be allowed to know the affairs of the high and mighty.

Seriously though: Did you ever think he was innocent?
I never think Ecclestone is innocent; he's a super-rich businessman!
I tend to get my news from a variety of sources - radio, television and newspapers - so I'm exposed to many biases!

It seems there's a German law allowing him to do this. However, he''s not in the clear yet. The bank involved has just turned down his offer, presumably they want even more money rather than criminal court proceedings.

Firtunately, Bernie Ecclestone is not quite off the hook as the bank involved has just rejected his offer despite the courts accepting the offer.

I trust you're not referring to Bernie Ecclestone's eyes as "beauties"!

I was surprised that it's happening in Germany. I don't know why but I just asumed the German legal system to be beyond this type of 'bribery'.
