WEDDING FUN

The diamond jeweller Vashi Dominguez commissioned a recent survey to find out what 1,000 brides most regretted about their wedding. The survey found that over 80 per cent of brides had regretted something about their wedding; only 18 per cent felt they had the perfect wedding with no regrets.

The biggest regret that brides have about their wedding is the best man’s speech. Over half of the brides wanted to change the best man’s speech because of his inappropriate jokes. Isn’t this what the best man should do!?

The next biggest regret for brides was their hair and make-up (38 per cent), not spending enough on their wedding day (34 per cent) and the weather (33 per cent). Other brides’ regrets included their wedding dress, honeymoon destination, wedding photographs, engagement ring, choice of bridesmaids, and bouquet of flowers.

I'm surprised young were not on the list of regrets.

In the UK, the average cost of a wedding is over £18,000.

If ever married, what do you most regret about your wedding (or weddings)?
Have you ever been a best man or bridesmaid at a wedding?
What’s the worst wedding you’ve ever attended?

The worst, or rather funniest, wedding I’ve ever attended involved a punch-up between members of the bride’s and groom’s family.

I’ve been a best man four times. I love making the best man’s speech. It’s a question of not saying anything inappropriate but getting the guests to think inappropriate things.

My biggest regret at my wedding – see FOUR WEDDINGS AND A TITFUCK - was my wedding cake. I didn’t have sex on my wedding night but that was my doing by getting too drunk. But wedding cake, what’s the point?

I would hate to be at that wedding when the cake goes bye bye..

If ever married, what do you most regret about your wedding (or weddings)? We could have done it at a bigger place so many people showed up and it was a very small church.

What’s the worst wedding you’ve ever attended? Someone that didn't plan it well..

I think weddings are so built up and supposed to be "perfect" but rarely in life is anything totally perfect. What makes it perfect is being happy with the decision on who you married... Was my wedding perfect? I haven't decided yet lol

I've been married twice....my biggest regrets were probably not marrying the right man.

I've been a bridesmaid three times...no speeches.

I don't think I've ever been to a bad wedding.

Even though I have never officially been a "bestman" at a wedding, I am!
The one thing we regret about our wedding, is not having it videoed, as the gentleman giving the toast to the bride, threw away his notes and we don't have a copy of the beautiful words spoken!

I regret not eloping with MB. I would have been very happy just walking into a judge office and have him sign the paper.
I have avoided being part of a wedding party. I have hosted the shower, arranged the flower's and arranged the reception, but I have never had to buy a hideous dress.
The worst wedding was my mother's 4th...or was it 5th? UHG!

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

1. Nothing.
2. Yes, thoroughly enjoyed it every time.
3. A niece's, beautiful day in a big scottish castle, but it was quite clear that she didn't love her intended and that it wouldn't last.

We didn't get the exact church time we wanted, which actually worked out better. But looking back my only regret was not getting the cocktail party CD's I had mixed, back from the DJ.

I have had the honor of being best man 4 times.

The worst wedding I have been to, started out with directions to a location that was a private home, and the home owner was upset about the interruptions. But given there were 20 separate cars at the same place at the same time, we decided we all could not have read the map wrong exactly the same way. The wedding when down hill for there. These most grizzly part was one of the wedding guess... a story onto itself. I keep meaning to blog about it.

I think that's a common issue when the family starts taking over things. It did happen to me but we had to say we wanted it done our way, but of course our parents could pay for it!!!

I've only been to 3 weddings in my life and only one since adulthood, they were all shit.

Have you ever dropped the best man's perennial classic... "This Spring, when springing on the innerspring, watch out for the offspring, next spring"?

Wedding cake only exists so the groom has a flavour lure to get his new wife's mouth on his equipment on the honeymoon... Hint: He pokes his cock into the cake and she eats it back off.
I've not used that line for my best man's speech.
At my wedding, my mother told to sit down half-way through my speech when I started going on about sheep-shagging. I kept going!

I totally agree with you. It's not the material things that make a perfect wedding but the feelings, emotions etc.

I love weddings; there's no such as a bad wedding in my book.
With hindsight, I can say the same as you about the regret of marrying the wrong woman!

I never fully understand why cumbersome and expensive wedding dresses are bought specially for a wedding, as they're rarely worn again!

Food and drink are critical at weddings. If there's not enough food to eat or drink to drink, then, guests certainly won't be happy even if the married couple saves money.

I think it's unfair that the best man and not bridesmaids are expected to make a speech. I've not yet been to a wedding where there was a best woman, that's unfair too!

I've also been best man four times. I love being best man; the only problem I have is staying sober long enough to deliver my speech. I've not got drunk yet as best man until well after the speeches and my duties are over!
