SUMMER’S HERE
SUMMER’S HERE Summer is getting very near. Apart from a few days of rain, the weather in England is now almost summer-like. Eating and drinking alfresco, walking by the river and canal, watching people in skimpy clothes walking the streets, sipping coffee at a pavement cafe table, swimming in the sea, reading newspapers on my roof terrace, promenading in parks with my sunglasses, having a beer in the garden of a countryside pub and, my favourite, rowing on the lake while trying to avoid the swans are all my favourite summer pursuits. Sunbathing just doesn’t do it for me. What pursuits do you like doing when the weather gets hot in the summer? Do you like sunbathing? What is your favourite season or weather? I like spring and autumn the best because I don’t like it too hot or cold and I like a bit of rain. Seasons seem less pronounced nowadays than what I remember as a . Summer was hot and sunny; autumn was cool and brown; winter was cold and snowy; and spring was rainy and green. I guess the lack of seasonal weather is all down to climate change, unless my childhood memories are wrong. I’ve only just realised that England’s summer is Australia’s winter! |

Summer appeared briefly here yesterday and this morning but the clouds are gathering now. My favourite summer pastime is eating dinner outside in the late evening when it is a little cooler. I have never been able to eat a proper meal when it's hot. I don't sunbathe either...my skin burns easily even with high factor sun screen. ~~Anais Nin~~

My favourite season is summer (outdoors, not indoors when my apartment is like an oven), and my favourite summer activity is camping. It's always best if there is a lake or pool, so you can cool off, if necessary. As for the sunbathing, I don't do much of it until I'm on vacation - hopefully at my nudist resort. But I have to be extremely careful that my "virgin winter skin" doesn't get sunburned right away. I start off my "sunbathing" by artificial means, in a tanning booth - so I turn nice and golden-brown, instead of lobster-red. Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

Summer is here for sure and I love this time of year.. Spring or summer for me.. I love the smell of the flowers too. Nothing really changes in my life except golf starts up here in April until Oct. Camping too in the summer time is always fun.. hugs V I took this pic yesterday of the Lavender plant in my garden. I was trying to capture how many bees it had on it. I "DO NOT" sunbathe!! I try to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible. I have fair skin and will fry like an egg, turn as red as a cooked lobster! My perfect temperature would be 20C-25C. I would be happy with that year round. Summers usually get too hot for me and winters definitely too cold!

It is officially winter here, as of today. And it is bone chilling cold. I love being able to spend lots of time in the water in summer but can happily skip the rest of it. Spring has always been my favourite time An orgasm a day , makes you so much happier at work and play

1. Fishing on a summer's evening. Otherwise, I prefer outdoors pursuits when the weather is a little cooler. 2. Hate it with a passion, it's really unhealthy, and there are better ways to achieve a suntan. 3. Probably springtime, but no strong preference.

I like summer best. Golf moves to the top of the must do list. Find pleasure in giving pleasure

I can only sunbathe for about an hour and then I get itchy feet and want to do something else.

At the moment, it's Autumn in Australia (Americans and Canadians know it as Fall)... Because the leaves 'fall' off the trees, makes sense. When the weather gets hot in the summer, I mostly fall asleep for long periods under a roaring fan and cool but not cold showers. Sunbathing is not for me... It causes drying and premature aging of the skin and is courting skin cancer (especially with the brutal Australian sun). I don't mind Autumn but I love Spring because it's moderate weather and the flowers are in bloom. I can't stand the cold of winter and never enjoy physical contact when the weather is making it too hot and sweaty to do so.

A desert sounds the perfect location for you!

Though I tan quite easily, I still don't like sunbathing. I get bored after about an hour.

Most homes in the UK don't have or need AC.

I don't mind the heat provided it's not very humid. Gambia heat was great, Dubai heat was awful.
