SEX IN A CROWD?
SEX IN A CROWD? Alex Prager is an American art photographer and filmmaker. I’ve just come across her intriguing photographs – see four photos above and below taken from her latest Face in the Crowd exhibition. Her photographs do not look real. But what I found most interesting is that, though her photos are of crowds, I was always drawn to only one-or-two people in the crowd. The art critic Emily Hall described Alex Prager’s exhibition as portraying “in-between-ness, a nonspace through which we are obliged to pass”. The Lehmann Maupin Gallery, which staged the exhibition, believed that “Prager taps into a shared cultural memory to create images that are familiar yet strange” and that “Prager’s scenes of disconnected characters within the crowd remind us of the resulting decline of interpersonal contact in our media saturated society.” Enough of artworld bullshit! I like Alex Prager’s photographs. The four photos shown here are titled Crowd#2 (Emma), Crowd#3 (Pelican Beach), Crowd#4 (New Haven), and Crowd#8 (City Hall). Do you get drawn into focusing only on one-or-two characters in Alex Prager's photographs? Do you like being in crowds? Do you like watching people in crowds? Do you ever imagine having sex with strangers you see in a crowd? I quite like crowds; I like the anonymity which is one of the reasons I like living in a city. I love watching people in crowds. I like to wonder what people are doing, feeling and thinking. Also, I often imagine what sex would be like with them. I've never had sex in a crowd, unless having sex at a sex club or sex party counts! |

Crowds aren't really a problem for me because I can always remove myself from them. If there is a sexy dressed woman in the crowd that my eye catches, then my mind will do a little wandering!

Alex Prager's photographs.. I am drawn into them when I see them. I don't like crowds and I find myself staying away if there are lots of people. A lady dress sexy can always be found in a crowd.. No sex with a stranger in a crowd.. hugs V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

In each of those pic I am drawn to one person who I am sure is in them all, although she has red hair in the last one. Im not to keen on crowds. I love people watching but dont like to be surrounded An orgasm a day , makes you so much happier at work and play

I seem to be drawn to just one person in each of the photographs but I don't particularly like her work. Perhaps because I definitely don't like crowds at all. I hate being in a place with lots of strangers. ~~Anais Nin~~

I like to sit on the edge of a crowd and watch. I do not enjoy being in crowds though and always look for clean air when I find myself in one. The photo's; I find my eye darting to each person. The first person I am drawn to is the blond. As for sex with strangers in a crowd...Eric Jong introduced the idea of a zipless fuck in the book, Fear of Flying. Definitely a turn on to me. I can get wet just looking at a guys hands in an elevator. My naughty mind could get me into all kinds of trouble if I let it out to wander.

I found none of the photos particularly interesting, to be honest... The only person in any of them that stood out was the guy walking along, holding hands with what is presumably his kid in the beach pic. Being in crowds is neither comfortable nor uncomfortable for me due to it being a necessary daily experience living in a large city and therefore unavoidable. I do like watching some people in crowds, even grey people (those who have nothing to set them apart) and wonder about what they might be thinking at that isolated moment or if I'm with a friend, I love making observations about others and it can be shamelessly comical at times. Every time I'm out and about I see people who I imagine sex with or fantasise about... The differences of appearance from one to another can be rather vast but I have a bredth of type.

I think the photographer may have used the same people for her series of photographs.

People-watching is a great pastime; most people don't admit it!
