A MASQUERADE BALL

A MASQUERADE BALL  Above is a photo of a masquerade ball I attended in London last year. The ball was held to raise monies for Crisis, a charity for the homeless. To help the homeless, I had to go to the ball but I had to find my Cinderella first. Below is a photo of my Cinderella at the ball. I didn't tell her at the time, but I thought her mask was a little scary. I accompanied Cinderella to the Last Tuesday Society Masquerade Ball on 25 May 2013 at the Coronet Theatre, a club on New Kent Road in London. This masquerade party’s dress code was “Divine Decadence: Masks Obligatory, Clothes Optional”. The ball’s DJ was David TG, the host DJ of the Torture Garden, a fetish club in London. The ball also had live music played by the El Paraiso Samba Band and London Gay Symphony Orchestra. There were lots of dancing carnival queens and cavorting drag queens at the ball. Also at the ball, there was a naked banquet, luxurious beds, an opulent opera room, writhing snakes to play with, chocolate fountains, a cinema showing erotica, a private photo booth to take pictures of yourselves on a four-poster bed, and a den of golden naked men and women. What would you have done at the Last Tuesday Society’s masquerade ball? Have you ever attended a masquerade ball? If not, would you attend a masquerade ball? Do you own a mask? Have you ever had sex wearing a mask or with someone wearing a mask? The Last Tuesday Society is known for organising lavish parties, including masquerade balls and animal parties. Founded by William James at Harvard University in the 1870s, the society is currently run by Suzette Field and Viktor Wynd. The professional party planner Suzette Field wrote the brilliant book, A Curious Invitation: The Forty Greatest Parties in Literature. This post is a masquerade! Unfortunately I have never been to a masquerade ball, but I would love to go to one provided it’s not like the ball depicted in the awful Eyes Wide Shut film. I have never been to a masquerade ball and I was quite enjoying the post until I cam to the bit about snakes!!!!! I would run a mile!!!!  "Eyes wide shut" was SO bad that I have never managed to see the complete film....I fall asleep after about half an hour!! ~~Anais Nin~~

Have you ever attended a masquerade ball? Yes I have attended a few for charity in my past. Lots of fun. Yes they were where we had to wear a gown to get in. Fully clothed..
