THE OLD MAN'S BOAT AND THE OLD MAN'S DOG

Eric Fischl is an American artist. Above is his The Old Man's Boat And The Old Man's Dog painting. Below is his The Brat II and Bad Boy paintings. I sort-of-like his art but I'm not sure. Details like the dog, the fishing rod and the woman's sun-tan lines on the boat are great. But he can't paint cocks!

Do you like Eric Fischl's art?
If so, what do you like about his art?
If not, what don't you like about his art?

Have you seen the waves in the background?

They are unbelievably relaxed... and I can't believe that the dog isn't having a sniff

I googled more of his work. I like it because at first glance it looks like an ordinary scene. The more you look, the more the story unfolds or the imagination wanders.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I've only very recently come across him or, more accurately, stumbled across him.

I don't know too much about art. I just dabble, though I generally prefer modern art to classical art.

I think the dog may be about to mount as well!
I hope he paints a sequel.

I can't work out why they are so relaxed given those impending waves!

I agree that the more you look, the more you see (or think you see). I hope you liked his other work.

I like his work but I wouldn't buy it to hang on my wall either.
