A BUBBLY BABY

A BUBBLY BABY  As it’s National Bubbles Week, I've posted this photo above, which may or may not have been me as a baby having a bubble-bath. I’ve never had any so I have no first-hand experience of babies. My only experiences of babies are of other people’s babies. I’ve always been slightly awkward around babies. On the few times I’ve held a baby, I’ve been afraid of putting my fingers through the baby’s skull as I’ve been told that a baby’s skull is not fully formed! My attempts at baby-talk are pitiful to behold. I feel quite uncomfortable talking in a way that babies (or parents) seemingly want, so I end up talking normally to them. My attempts at looking after babies while their parents aren’t around usually end up with floods of baby tears and accusing looks from parents as they return to rescue their offspring from my futile attempts to comfort their baby. When babies can walk and talk, that’s when I can have fun playing with them. There’s not much point doing too much with babies before they can walk and talk as they never seen remember the experience. I appreciate that I would perhaps feel differently if I had babies, and I also appreciate that some people just love all babies they come across. I’m not really a baby-person. I’d much sooner have a bubble-bath than a baby – below is me having an imaginary bubble-bath! How good are you at baby-talk? Do you like other people’s babies? Do you like bubble-baths?  |

One of my fantasies is to have a bubble bath with a lover. When I had my own children, I didn't talk baby-talk to them. I read the sports section of the news paper out loud to them, political blogs, and told them stupid jokes. I sang to them some pretty stupid songs, that I made up on the spot. I now like other people's babies. But I didn't used to. Love the pic of the couple in the bathtub. I don't do baby talk....just talk to them softly. I love babies....any babies lol....which I guess is just as well really as I spend a lot of time with small people!  I adore bubble baths and have one every night....alone unfortunately!!  ~~Anais Nin~~

Babies are one of lifes treasures. I always just talk to them like they were a "person" . Sharing a bubble bath with my lady is always special

I never did baby-talk with my niece and nephews. Instead, I often tried to scare them by being a bogey-man!

I love my own kids but I've never been a big fan of other people's babies. I'm uncomfortable around them and don't know what to say. For some reason my own felt different.

I'm a shower in the morning and a bath in the evening person.

I tend to avoid teenage girls at all costs! It's not that teenage boys are any better, it's just that I can relate to them more.

I once lived in a place that didn't have a bath, and it didn't suit me. A bath is now a property-buying essential.

As mother of more than one child, I evolved with my thinking about how to talk to my children. We, as parents have our own way of raising our children which can make it somewhat challenging for others...not my favorite thing. I love both pictures with two different views..however image 2 in the bath....I need that...right now. Lol. Happy HNW!!! Kisses

I'm not a fan of baby talk, won't do it and cringe whenever I hear it. I'm generally indifferent to babies but used to do quite a lot of babysitting for friends during my mid-late teens... Nothing is more horrendous than changing shitty nappies. It's a smell like nothing else and you never forget it. I love bubble baths but have never indulged in one with anyone else.
