QWERTY PORN

QWERTY PORN

As I was looking to buy a framed picture of a tiger to hang on my bedroom wall, I decided to do an internet search today. The above picture is what Google presented to me!

Also today, I searched for local butchers to buy some pork for my meal tonight. I misspelt the word ‘pork’ and typed in the word ‘porb’ instead. Google led me to the Urban Dictionary, whose entry for ‘porb’ reads:

"You meant to type in porn on google but you made a typo and typed porb instead. You then saw the urban dictionary page which made you curious so you clicked on it. Now you are reading this."

That’s one of the funniest things I’ve come across on the internet. I presume many people using a QWERTY keyboard mistakenly type in ‘porb’ when they are searching for 'porn' – check your keyboard, and the letter ‘k’ is not too far away from the letter ‘n’ to account for my innocent mistake! The Urban Dictionary 'porb' entry is one of its more popular entries – people still click the page even when they know it’s not what they want!

Are you a good speller?
What’s your most frequent spelling mistake you make?
Do you ever consult the Urban Dictionary?

I always have problems spelling the country, the Philippines. And when I typed the word in, I had spelt it wrong before spellchecking and correcting it! I just can’t spell that country.

I'm a good speller but when I type too fast the results can be hilarious.

My worst....I mix up the "i" and "o" keys a lot so for becomes fir....etc.

I often use Urban dictionary....I have learned a lot from it.

I am getting better at spelling. I used to be just awful. I blame living in three different countries before I was age five. U.S, Philippines, and Spain. The word I have issues with most is character. It took me and spell check three tries before we agreed.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I am always double checking what I have spelled. Since English isn't my first language. You and your.. sometimes I forget to put the r on the end of the word. Oxford dictionary is what I use.

Great pic there hugs V

What picture?!
I tend to make lots of spelling mistakes if I use more than one finger typing.

Sometimes the Urban Dictionary is useful, though there is a lot of dross in it as well.

I spell better when I hand-write than when I type on a keyboard.

I'm generally an excellent speller but when I'm typing on my mobile phone and the predictive text doesn't recognise a word, I will often find that the next option on the list has taken the place of the letters I have typed. When I use a computer or use pen and paper, my good spelling and accuracy is very obvious.

If I'm typing very fast, I sometimes type 'teh' instead of 'the'.

I'm not inclined towards urban dictionary but many terms I regularly use have errantly been attributed to it.
I always turn the predictive function off my mobile phone or computer. I sometimes type teh rather than the!

My hand-writing is sometimes illegible so no one can notice my spelling mistakes!

From your writing, I wrongly assumed that English was your first language!
