IS IT HOT IN HERE OR IS IT JUST YOU?  A few years ago, the badoo dating site analysed the success of chat-up lines on success of opening lines used in nearly 200,000 online flirtations over one month. The line used by men that got the best response from women was: “You have beautiful lips”. The analysis found that British women respond best to compliments about their legs, American and French women respond best to compliments about their dress sense, and Dutch and Portuguese women respond best to compliments about their ears! According to AskMen, the ten worst chat-up lines are: 1. “Great legs, what time do they open?” 2. “You must be tired because you’ve been running through my head all night.” 3. “Hey girl, what’s up? Guess what? It’s your lucky day. Out of all the girls here, I picked you to talk to.” 4. “That shirt’s very becoming on you. Of course, if I were on you I’d be coming too.” 5. “Can I buy you a drink or do you just want the money?” 6. “Can I have your phone number? I seem to have lost mine.” 7. “Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk past again?” 8. “Excuse me; I think you owe me a drink.” [She says, "Why?"] “Because when I saw you from across the room I dropped mine. It was a rum and Coke, and I’m [your name].” 9. “Is your last name Gillette? Because you’re the best a man can get.” 10. “Do you come here often?” How do or did you chat-up? Do you have any tried-and-tested chat-up lines? How do you get the attention of someone you don’t know? What is the most cringe-worthy chat-up line you’ve heard or said? All the advice is to be yourself but that can be difficult in a moment with someone you don’t know. I tend to chat-down rather than chat-up, or if I chat-up, it will be laced with heavy irony. My logic is that if I say I’m not attracted to someone and they are attracted to me, they’ll kick up and then I know they are attracted to me. I know it’s slightly childish and even pathetic, but this approach has been known to work. I’m aware that this approach means that they may take me literally and just walk away. But I don’t know that, which is why I delude myself that my chat-down approach works! The chat-down line I would love to use, but haven’t yet, is to walk up to a woman sitting down in a bar or club and say, “Would you like a dance?”, and if she said yes, I can say, “Good, I can have your seat.” |

I never used a pick-up line! I don't go to bars... I do like to flirt and if I want to get a lady's attention, I just look into her eyes and smile!

women don't slap anymore...they punch...hard.....and rightly so if any man uses those pick up lines.... Blue...  ...my personal favourite.....growing up in Washington DC,...."No..I am not a tourist...I live around the corner in a townhouse that the "British" didn't burn down in the War of 1812..would you like to see it...
