NEARLY RIPPED OFF
NEARLY RIPPED OFF Last month I renewed my gold membership of Affairlook for one month only. At the time I noticed that Affairlook are offering 18 months gold membership for the price of 12 months’ membership; the extra six months was conditional on being active on the site. At the time, I thought I would sign up to that deal after my month’s membership expired. Two days ago, I checked to see if the deal was still being offered by Affairlook. I could not find this deal if I extended my gold membership for a further 12 months. I then realised that my auto-renew subscription was switched on by Affairlook. It was; auto-renewal was switched to on as the default setting. To find this out, I had to click ‘Our stuff’, ‘Our Account’, and ‘Billing History & Credit Card Info’, before switching off my auto-renewal. Yesterday, my gold membership ended and I reverted to standard membership. I then checked to see if I the ‘18 months for the price of 12 months’ gold membership deal was open to standard member wanting to upgrade, it was. I signed up to this deal but made sure my auto-renewal was switched off. This all means that gold members renewing their gold membership pay significantly more than standard members upgrading to gold membership. This does not seem fair. Is your auto-renewal on or off? Do you feel Affairlook rips off its members, whether gold or standard members? Have you ever literally ripped off someone’s clothes off before having sex? Why does the word, literally, often mean the opposite of what literally literally means? I plead guilty to literally ripping clothes off before sex, both my own and someone else’s pants. It all seemed worth it at the time; once my lucky pants were so ripped they had to be thrown away! |

This site is notorious for turning the auto renew back on. I use one time credit cards for that reason and every renewal still get an email, that there is trouble with my credit card. Slick marketing . well, clothes have been a "victim" a few times

I once had the most expensive pair of knickers I ever bought ripped off me - that one hurt (not literally...). As for auto-renew - I hate it like a passion, on any site, and I always forget to turn it off. However, I've been going through a spate for the last couple of years of losing my purse every six months or so and having to cancel my cards (it always turns up, but I'd rather cancel than run the risk this time I really did leave it on the bus, and find some scally has run amok in JD Sports with my credit card): this helps a bit. Deals on everything are usually better for people signing up for the first time, whether it's internet or cable TV - not much of a reward for loyalty in this life

My auto-renewal is "OFF" A*F*F automatically turns it on...I turned it off several times then notified them to please leave it off until I decide to turn it on, which I won't! In March, I will find out if I have a 6 month extension on my 12 month membership? Never have I ripped cloths off for sex! MERRY CHRISTMAS, spunky...stay safe!

I have had my auto renew turned on by the site many times. I finally deleted the cc info and canceled the card I used here. I will never pay for this site again. I am only here to blog anyway. If I didn't love the blogs so much, I would have left the site years ago.

It's really sharp practice; but, as it's Affairlook, it doesn't at all surprise me!

Makes me glad my gold membership was a free deal for a month. I keep all of that kind of stuff on off anyway. I've ripped my ex-wife's clothes off for sex a few times.

The site seems to be a law unto itself and it's consumers have only one form of recourse, either to turn off their auto-renew every time they log on and hope the site isn't corrupt enough to switch it back on and take liberties with your credit card number and let your gold expire then delete your account to snap off their supply, also contact your bank and demand a stop on any further releases of funds to Various Inc (better to use a bank credit card than Amex or similar which is more easily stripped). If enough members did this, they'd have to review their practices because it would cost them hideously. You could still do all other processes but leave your account as a standard membership... I have never successfully ripped anyone's clothing off before sex but in 1994 I had a boyfriend who literally ripped off my new, expensive panties before sex... I wasn't impressed, I couldn't afford to replace them and he didn't, either. As the fabric tore, it burned my underseam - OUCH! I feel that the site rips-off its customers every time it makes an unpopular or unnecessary change that causes more frustrating challengers to users and then the site support misinterprets complaints and gives unhelpful advice to overcome the issues they've created. I also feel that the advertising is perversely dishonest.

Spunky, if you revert to standard membership, you won't be able to enjoy the pervier aspects of my profile... That would be disastrous for you, lol
