GREEN FINGERS

Paul Barnett has 250 different varieties of apple, including eating and cooking apples, growing on one tree - see above. He has spent 24 years grafting new varieties of apple onto his tree in his garden in a village near Chichester in England. Because he ran out of space in his garden to plant many different apple trees, he developed one 'family tree' though his garden does look big enough for an orchard! I’m amazed how he can grow 250 different types of apple on one tree, but I’m more amazed why he grows 250 varieties on a tree.

Living in a city centre apartment, I don’t have a garden as such. I have a roof terrace with lots of pots, some with plants in and many with no plants in. I don’t even know the names of the plants in the pots. I am not a very keen gardener, though occasionally I get my hosepipe out to give the pots a squirt of water. Also, I have never had sex on my roof terrace; there are lots of windows overlooking it.

Research conducted in Karolinska University hospital in Stockholm has found that regular gardening prolongs life by as much as 30 per cent among the 60-plus age group.

Do you enjoy gardening?
If you have a garden, what sort of garden do you have?
Have you had sex in your garden?

I'm not a big fan of gardening...
I used to grow potatoes, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes(for the wife) but there got to be too many weeds! If there were "NO" weeds, I would enjoy gardening.
Never had sex in a garden!!

1. Yes, when I get around to it, I love growing things.
2. A small one, lots of flowering plants and a variety of foliage.
3. Nope, not in my garden.

Apples are good, especially at this time of year.

Yes.
Medium sized - fruit and veg and trees and bushes.
Yes, but with a comfortable bed within walking distance (OK, it is upstairs) I don't really see the point..

I have lots of space for a garden and am in process of planning one. I wanted to wait a year to see what this climate was like, what grows here and sun patterns in my yard. I will spend the winter plotting out my flower beds and mini orchard.
No sex in the garden...might have to try that.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

Weeds always spoil a garden!

I like the idea of gardening but I've never been that successful at growing pants.

I've had sex in my parents' secluded garden when they were out on a Summer's evening.

I can't garden... I have 2 black thumbs... The antithesis of 2 green thumbs... Whenever I have attempted to grow things, they die. I don't have the knack or diligence.

There's a garden in my apartment block and one of the other tenants is wonderful with how she maintains it and I often tell her.

I've never had sex in a garden but would like to try it.

    I love apples!
I'm a very unsuccessful gardener.

...actually I have recently gone from 660 acres to 1 acre with formal wrap around garden...

..I love to watch things grow...

    Blue...
That's quite a downsize! Your 660-acre garden sounds like a farm!

You sound like an experienced gardener. I wouldn't wait to monitor the climate before planting; I just plant inappropriate plants hoping they grow, but invariably they don't!
