SWOOP AND SCOOP
SWOOP AND SCOOP As it’s still Breast Awareness Month, I feel obliged to post about breasts again solely for reasons of public health. Trust me, I’m a doctor! Below is some trivia about measuring breasts for bras. Bra sizes usually consist of a number indicating a band size around a woman's body and a letter indicating the breast cup size. In 1932, S H Camp & Co was the first bra manufacturer to measure breast size by the letters of the alphabet - A, B, C, and D. But since then, bra sizes have varied widely between bra manufacturers and between countries. Bra manufacturers and countries – such as the UK, USA/Canada, Australia/New Zealand, France/Belgium/Spain, Italy and Japan - all have different bra measurement systems. I don’t know the Swedish system! A woman can measure her breasts correctly but that measurement may not easily lead to the correct bra to buy. There are no international standards in measuring breast sizes and in manufacturing bras. The United Nations should act now; it’s wasting its efforts in Syria. Research has found that 80 per cent of women wear the wrong size bra. Obtaining the right size bra is complicated because up to 90 per cent of women's breasts are asymmetrical and because the size a woman's breasts vary during her menstrual cycle and breathing cycle. Two common methods of measuring a woman's band and cup size are under-the-bust or over-the-bust. One method to confirm that the bra is the best fit has been named the Swoop and Scoop. After identifying a possible well-fitting bra, the woman bends forward (the swoop), allowing her breasts to fall into the bra and then fasten the bra on its loosest hook. When standing up, the woman uses her hand to place each breast gently into the cup (the scoop). After, the woman then runs her index finger along the inside top edge of the bra cup to ensure her breast don't spill over the bra. One engineer, Professor John Tyrer from Loughborough University in the UK (just ten miles from where I live), has challenged bra manufacturers to measure the volume of breasts when they make bras. He argued that "to get the most supportive and fitted bra it's infinitely better if you know the volume of the breast and the size of the back." If the volume of breast was to be added to bra manufacturing, bra companies would have to use a pi (π)-based formula. pi is approximately equal to 3.14159, which we all know when at school but never knew it applied to bras. Maths teachers (or math teachers in America) missed a trick! Have you swooped-and-scooped? What does pi (π) mean to you? |

I never get a good fit. Based on the measurements I should wear a 42f but they fit awful. I am more comfortable in a 42ddd. I would love if I did not have to wear a bra but my boobs have sagged so far south now I would almost tuck them in my pants. pi would mean a bigger bra. LOL

Nice tit wank

Pi are square!!! Life of pie! (not me)

I think there's a 4th order differential equation from which breast volume can be determined. This is important because no two breasts are identical, and so braziere manufacturers should really consider making ever so slightly lop sided mammarial support units. No, I'm not obsessed by breasts. Pi in means fact life, alongside salsa music, kilts, fishing and whisky of course..........

I've been watching her for a few days and her bra doesn't seem to get damaged!

Not sure whether I actually swoop and scoop, it depends on the fit of the bra. I do lean slightly forward and jiggle them into the cups though. pi is a mathematical formula for measuring the area within a circle and not sure how well that would work with breast measurement. Some lazy mathematicians also describe pi as 22/7 which I have researched and found somewhat inaccurate. It's nice to think, and I do think, that you jiggle!

Sweetheart, EVERY time I put on a bra, I 'swoop and scoop'. lol My Mum taught me to do that when I was about 13 years old, and I have done it ever since. It is something that I imagine all women do. AND ... Like everybody else, I can't see the symbol for pi without thinking circles and 3.142, but now I shall probably think of bras as well. lol
