UNDERWIRED BRAS

UNDERWIRED BRAS As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, this is my pathetic contribution to raising awareness.  According to the American underwire bra manufacturer, S & S Industries, about 70 per cent of bra-wearing women wear underwired bras. The US Transportation Security Administration advises women not to wear underwired bras when flying as they can set off metal detectors. In 2001, Triumph International launched a ‘Frequent Flyer Bra’ guaranteed not to set off metal detectors. In 2010, one female attorney, Brittney Horstman, was prevented from meeting a at Miami’s Federal Detention Center when her underwired bra set off a metal detector. She then removed her bra in a bathroom and was then barred from entering the prison because she was not wearing a bra and thus violated the prison’s dress code! Is the above hands-on bra an underwired bra? What are your views on underwired bras? Have you ever worn a ‘Frequent Flyer Bra’? Do you regularly check your breasts? I hope I can claim to be the first to blog about underwired-bra trivia for a good cause! |

It sure is an under bra. I hate those kind of bras the always seem to bother me. I am not big busted so no worries there. I have to regularly check my breast because breast cancer runs in my family. You never know hugs V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

Yes, it is an underwire bra. I'm not sure if it's a VS miracle bra! My wife is a mommographer....I call her a "hooterologist".

I concur with the previous responses, I believe the bra in the picture is an underwire... I wear underwire bras and although they can be uncomfortable if ill-fitting, they are very good for assisting in the shaping process as the pic of my "girls" on my private message post shows. I never have worn a 'frequent flyer bra' because having never flown, I have no need of one but hope that if I do, one will not be required. I do regularly check my breasts for lumps and sometimes my guests do too but I'm not sure that they are looking for lumps or would detect anything if I did have one. Special comment: In Australia, often doctors ignore the needs of proper mammograms for trans-ladies and give them a quick manual before saying there's nothing wrong. Several trans-ladies that I have know over the years have died from undiagnosed breast cancer due to poor attitudes to us having breasts my some medical "professionals".

Outright prejudice... We even habe to pay upwards of $20,000 for the surgery, too... Not on the medical benefits scheme. If we can afford private insurance, we can get about 80 percent of the cost of the surgery refunded but the premiums are quite expensive and often subsequent surgeries are required for deepening of the passage. Due to being discriminated against for the first 5 years i was seeking employment, I now experience being discriminated against for having no work history. I have had a few psychological breakdowns as a result of this and relegated to living on a pension which gives me no financial means to obtain the surgery. Prostitution is more dangerous for trans- than regular women or even men and a defiling option. It's why I don't have my own vagina. Not meaning to depress you. Just hoping to make you aware of the facts.
