WHAT’S IN YOUR FRIDGE?
WHAT’S IN YOUR FRIDGE? Inside my fridge at the moment is: beer, wine, orange juice, coke, lemonade, ginger beer, wine, milk, evaporated milk, butter, jam, marmalade, damson chutney, tomato ketchup, brown sauce, tomato puree, English mustard, sweet chilli sauce, hot chilli sauce, cranberry sauce, redcurrant jelly, horseradish sauce, mint sauce, mint jelly, a jar of jalapeno peppers, a jar of pickled onions, and one cottage pie ready meal to eat tonight! I have not had a shop for a while as work has been busy, so my fridge is quite empty except for drinks and condiments. I buy the condiments thinking that I’m cooking to cook meat and vegetables but it rarely happens; I often have to throw the condiments away when their use-by-date passes. I also have lots of herbs in jars thinking I’m going to flavour my freshly cooked meals, but they are rarely shaken. I must stop this good-intentions shopping. But all the drink in my fridge gets drunk. What’s in your fridge? What does inside your fridge say about you? What do you end up throwing away in your fridge? Do you eat food after the use-by-date? Do you do good-intentions shopping? |

Which fridge? I have 2....plus a small bar fridge...2 freezers also! Bar fridge contains beverages only! Kitchen fridge...downstairs fridge is for overflow when cooking and baking! Some foods get thrown away at expiry date but some last longer! We shop with good intentions.

What’s in your fridge? Everything. I have a family of 5, host dinners frequently and like to be prepared. What does inside your fridge say about you? I have eclectic taste. What do you end up throwing away in your fridge? Vegetables and fruits. Do you eat food after the use-by-date? Some, like sour cream, beef and milk. Do you do good-intentions shopping? Rarely but once in a while I will find a product I think I can build a meal on then it sits in the fridge until I throw it out.

In my fridge I have semi-skim milk, fizzy orange drink, vegetable juice, fruit juice, filtered water, fresh herbs, mustard, 3 different varieties of jam, dairy spread, cheese, jar of pickles, jars of chopped chillies, pasta sauce, half a lite garlic bread, chocolate body paints, lite mayonnaise and sausages and in my freezer... A pizza, 2 chocolate cheesecakes, 18 Mars icecream bars, ground coffee, a loaf of cafe-style raisin toast and a bag of frozen vegetables. I also usually have Perrier water in my fridge too but not at the moment. The inside of my fridge says that I need to get some salad vegies in and that I'm in a slimming-down phase although the contents of my freezer suggests otherwise. I never eat food after its 'use by' date but will eat stuff after the 'best before' date... I only do good-intentions shopping in the sense of buying foodstuffs in anticipation of the needs or tastes of guests, for example, the dairy spreads... I never use them and greasy bread makes me nauseous... I eat my raisin toast dry and if I have other bread (which I'm in the process of removing from my diet), I have that with vegemite. The jams that I have were for recipes.
