One gate leads to a heavenly paradise and the other gate leads to a hellish inferno. You do not know which gate leads where. Beside the gates, there are two angels. One angel always tells the truth and the other angel always lies, but you also do not know which one is which. You have one question to ask one of the angels to find out which gate you want to open and enter. What would that question be? RIDDLE TWO: THE MAN AND THE LIFT A man lives on the thirtieth floor in a high-rose block of apartments. Every weekday, he gets up in the morning to go to work, takes a lift (or elevator) down to the ground floor and walks to work. After work, he walks back to his apartment block, gets a lift up to the ninth floor and then walks up the stairs to his apartment. How do you explain his behaviour? RIDDLE THREE: THE SURGEON WHO WON'T OPERATE A father is driving his to school and is involved in a car crash. The father dies in the accident, but his survives with life-threatening injuries. An ambulance rushes her to hospital for an emergency operation. In the operating theatre, the surgeon walks up to the girl and says, “I can’t do this.” The theatre nurse asks the surgeon, “Why not?” What did the surgeon reply? Do you like riddles? Do you have any riddles to share? Do you believe in angels? The answers to the riddles will be posted and the rewards, plus punishments, will be given out on this thread in a few days time. |
