WHAT IS BILL CLINTON DOING?

WHAT IS BILL CLINTON DOING?

Yes, exactly what is Bill Clinton doing?!

This weekend a friend visited and, over a few beers, we discussed whether Barack Obama is a good US President or not. My friend argued that Barack Obama has been a disappointing President; I argued that, given hopes were too high at the start of his Presidency, he has been a competent President.

We both agreed that Barack Obama has done a good job in managing the American economy given the state of the economy he had inherited. And we both agreed that he has done a bad job in tackling climate change, though recession is never a good time to go green. We both applauded his health care reforms, which, though limited, are moving in the right direction. We both accepted that his planned gun reform measures are likely to fail because of the gun lobby.

One area where my friend and I disagreed was US foreign policy. My friend argued that he has not closed Guantanamo Bay as promised, that Al-Qaeda is still operational despite the killing of Osama bin Laden, and that he is increasingly deploying drones around the world. I countered that he has not waged war on countries since taking office, that he has withdrawn or withdrawing American troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, and that his language is far more diplomatic and peace-seeking than his predecessor’s.

Like my friend and I, Barack Obama smokes, drinks beer and likes sport. What is there not to like? But, my friend and I both liked Bill Clinton when he was US President.

What’s your verdict on Barack Obama?
Do you miss Bill Clinton?
That was my Saturday night of fun, how was your Saturday night?

Not a fan of Obama. He has increased the social welfare programs along with spending to the point of ridiculous. His healthcare program has created a situation where employers will only hire part time or temporary employees so they do not have to insure.
I really miss Clinton. Those were happy days. Every president should have someone under the desk giving them a blow job. He goes up and so did the economy.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I think that Obama is a competent president. He could be so much better if almost half the nation wasn't against every thing he does. I was looking forward to having some kind of health insurance, but my state's Republican governor is making it near impossible.

He's got quite a balancing act on his hand when it comes to foreign policy. No matter what he does, there will be critics.

Never before has there been a more polarizing president. In the back of my mind, I'm sure that race is a big reason for that. (People won't admit that though.)

Clinton tried to get health care through too. (He did get it for children.) This battle goes all the way back to the beginning of Social Security. Roosevelt wanted to add health care onto that, but didn't think he could get it through. ... Then Johnson managed to get Medicare/Medicaid through and the congress worked with him to work out the bugs. .. Not so with Obamacare. The GOP won't make little fixes. They want the whole thing scrapped. (And have no alternative to offer either.) That's a shame.

Republicans aren't scoring many points with people on the national stage. They're holding everything hostage. But the truth is, is that their jobs aren't really in jeopardy because they represent heavily Republican districts. ...

Can't really miss Bill. He's still pretty active on the world stage. Gotta love him! .. There's a good chance that Hilliary could be the next president.

I think it will be either her or Chris Christie.

Mmmmmmmmmmm ... Bill Clinton is Sex On Legs !!!
I met him once, only for a short time, but the charisma of that man when he walked into the room almost blew me away !!!
I almost melted when I shook his hand, and vowed to never wash my hand again. (Ummm ... I have done though)
He has the most amazing presence about him, and the most penetrating eyes ... pure sex appeal !!!
His photographs do NOT do him justice.

The Bill Clinton Presidency seems like a distant past now; the world has changed a lot since then.

I worked on the local campaign for President Obama during his first run. I was gravely disappointed in what he's done in office. The expansion of domestic spying, lack of progress on climate change, not closing Guantanamo and so on were not what I was hoping for.

As far as health, we wanted health CARE reform, but what we got was health INSURANCE reform. The system still stinks, but we'll help you all pay for it? This wasn't President Obama's fault, though. See below.

On the other hand, When Bush was given the presidency via a Supreme Court decision, the GOP said, "Okay, the election is over and we must all now get behind the duly-elected president." However, when Barack Obama gets clearly elected, the GOP become hypocrites and block/delay or extort radical cuts of every single policy the president attempts. They even came right out and stated that "We will not do anything that gets Barack Obama re-elected." (Now, anything that will allow another Democratic president).

When you analyze it, the GOP is using the same strategy on Barack that they used on Clinton. It worked before. Make him look so bad that you won't look too hard at the Republican candidates agenda.

So now I'm an independent, which is a valid choice in Maine. A pox on both parties for not having the gravitas to stand up for the American people and giving in to money.
I'm very interested in American politics but I can never fully understand everything that goes on, except that money seems to play a big part.

I think everyone at work should have someone under their desks; it would make work fun!

I presume Hillary Clinton will have to declare her hand soon if she is to run for President. If she does, it'll be interesting to see what role (if any) her husband will have.

I've heard a few people say that about Bill Clinton.
Did he offer you a cigar?

No cigar, Honey ... but I would have taken just about anything else he offered.
