BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

There is talk of a sequel to the Man of Steel film featuring both Superman and Batman. I know Superman and Batman have appeared in comic books together, but this just isn’t right in a film!

Batman will spank Superman! Despite having no superpowers, Batman had Robin, the Batcave and the Batmobile, the coolest toy car ever made, to help him rid crime from the streets of Gotham City. Unlike Superman, Batman had a more formidable array of enemies – among others, the Joker, the Riddler, the Penguin, Catwoman and Poison Ivy were all in Batman’s ‘rogue’s gallery’. I always wanted to be Bruce Wayne, an American billionaire playboy, who could turn into the ‘Caped Crusader’. I love the darkness and campness of Batman. Superman is way too clean. Superman was never rewarded for his deeds like Batman was - see inside.

Who is best, Batman or Superman?
Who is your favourite comic book hero or heroine?
Who is your favourite comic book villain or villainess?
What were your favourite comics?

My favourite comic heroes were Batman, Wonder Woman and Eagle’s Dan Dare. My favourite comic villains were Catwoman, the Joker and the Riddler; I was scared of the Riddler!

As a , I liked reading the Beano (especially Dennis the Menace with his Gnasher), Beezer and Topper. As an adult, I still enjoy occasionally reading Viz, especially Buster Gonad ("the boy with unfeasibly large testicles"), The Fat Slags, and Roger Mellie, the Man on the Telly.

"Two Gun Kid" and "Superman" along with cartoon comics.
I still have about a 100 comics many of which were priced at 10 & 25 cents.

Batman & superman each represent two extremes of comic book characters: on the one hand you have Batman, who has a complex background, and while seemingly perfect in everything, is a mess of psychological issues and incredibly violent. He is constantly conflicted with his need to fight crime vs. his methods of doing so. Superman, while having somewhat of an interesting background, may have well been thought up by a seven year old. He is indestructible, he flies, he shoots lasers out of his eyes, and he is an all-American symbol for good. In other words, he's boring as hell. I've yet to see the new superman movie, still dry-heaving from the last, but, I will give the team up a chance, only because comic book films have come a long way in recent years.

My only books were women's looks and not but folly they taught me.

To answer the OP's questions in order:
Batman, hands down
Brit, from Image comics is brilliantly written.
The Joker is probably one of the most dynamic and interesting villains in modern fiction.
The Incredible Hulk, only because I'm a sucker for classic themes like hubris and the dual personality.

My only books were women's looks and not but folly they taught me.

Thanks for your post.
I've not heard of the Wild Dog nor Haywire; I'm going to look them up.

I guess your comic collection will be worth something now. I threw all my comics away!

Thanks for your post. That's a great analysis of Batman and Superman!

Dracula is great, one of my favourite books.
I prefered Wonder Woman over Bionic Woman!
