GET OVER OR GET UNDER?

It is sometimes said that, after a relationship has ended, the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody else. It is also widely said that you shouldn’t rush into a new relationship and let a passage of time heal any wounds.

I guess it all depends on circumstances and opportunities. At one extreme end, I know a few people who have someone lined up before ending a relationship, or even provoking the other person to dump them so as to appear as the innocent victim. And, at the other extreme end, I know a few people who take vows of chastity for a considerable period of time before getting involved with someone else.

How do you handle the end of a relationship?
And how do you handle the start of a relationship?

I only ended one relationship and that was because she preferred other men to me. We were married and she could have at least included me.
It was easy to end it but hard because I still loved her at that time. The love left the day I walked out of court.

My new relationship went s...l....o.....w. Never rush a good thing. After 27 years I find she has slowed down sexually, but I haven't. Hence my frustration and the bestowing of my blog.

Thanks for your thoughtful post.
People are different, which, I guess, is why the world is interesting.
