DEDICATED FOLLOWER OF FASHION

The Kinks wrote the song, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, in the 1960s. For me, it is only when I see old photos of myself that I realised I was influenced by fashion, despite at the time claiming to be a free spirit only wearing what I want to wear.

According to sheknows.com, the 10 worst fashion faux pas for women are:
1. Exposed bra strap
2. Wrong colour underwear
3. Sandals with socks
4. Too-short pants (ie jeans/trousers)
5. Corporate wear with sneakers
6. Visible Panty Line
7. Too-tight clothing
8. Exposed thong underwear
9. Shorts with stockings
10. Muffin Top

According to sheknows.com, the 14 worst fashion faux pas for men are:
1. Too many colours
2. Too many patterns
3. Too many fabrics
4. Stained clothes
5. Dressing for the wrong season
6. Pants that are too long or too short
7. Pants that sit too high
8. T-shirts that are too long or too short
9. ‘Busy’ T-shirts
10. Wrinkled button-downs
11. Ties that hang awkwardly
12. Socks with sandals
13. Missing a spot when you shave
14. Sporting a unibrow

I quite like an exposed bra strap and lots of colour on men, but sandals with socks is the fashion faux pas that seems common for both men and women (well, at least for the fashion police).

Do you wear sandals with socks?
What is your worst fashion faux pas?

In the 1970s, I used to wear an all-purple outfit in the late 1970s, and still yearn to dye my hair purple. I used to wear tank tops and platform shoes with pride. In the 1980s, it was a long dark coat, a white shirt, plus a skin colour to match, and bangles. In the 1990s, it was a misguided attempt to wear tight-fitting club-wear and a hair-band while playing football.

Are you a dedicated follower of fashion?
Does fashion influence what you wear?

If so, what has been your fashion history?

I tend to be preppy or classic in my style. I had pink spiked hair in the 80's. (Love the Kinks, BTW.)
I hardly ever where socks or shoes.
When I was in the business world it was suits or business attire. I always wore stockings with garters. I wore sexy under things that would occasionally show "accidently".
Now its beach wear and shorts most of the time. Color has populated my closet since we moved here. No more brown blue or black.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I'm so pleased I don't have to dress up for work. I like suits but I like to decide when to wear a suit.

One of the few best things about fashion is that, when out of fashion, it will always comes back in fashion.

Pink hair is cool! And stockings and garters!
I tend to avoid the preppy look being a European!

Casual is great. And it seems 'no socks with sandals' is universal!

I'd have thought that 13 and 14 are worse fashion crimes for women rather than men

Perhaps they are numbers 13 and 14 on the women's list; only 10 things were reported for the women's list.
