IVOR DICKIE

Here is Ivor Dickie stripping in Beryl Cook’s painting, Ladies’ Night.

Have you ever been to a strip show?
Have you ever performed in a strip show?
Do you enjoy a strip-tease?

I’m a little impatient and cannot wait for the clothes to come off quickly!

Beryl Cook was an untrained English artist, who became famous for her paintings of flamboyant and plump people enjoying themselves. Her characters are far more fun than LS Lowry’s dreary matchstick men.

Who are your favourite artists or paintings?

I love anything by Mark Rothko.

Used to go to strip club before it closed down years ago. Haven't gone to the one we have now.(too sleazy)
I have only stripped in my home!
Strip shows are good only if the girls can dance instead of prance!

Not a fan of male strip tease. It seems silly to me. Now women, another story altogether. I can watch women strip. It's sex and provocative if done right. I was once at a club with my husband. The young woman on stage looked as if she would rather be having a dental procedure. No fun for anyone.

As for artist...I love Frida Kahlo's work. So raw and emotional. There was also an artist from Wichita, Kansas I happened to meet during his show at the Wichita Art Museum. He had so many layers to his work. The central theme of each painting was surrounded by languages and architectural drawing and engineering. I could look at a piece for hours and not take it all in. I bought Anonymous Odalisque soon after I met him. Look him up, Nicholas Trabue. He died a few years ago but his widow still has his site up. trabuegiclees dot com.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I've been to a couple of strip shows and they didn't do much for me.

I also enjoy stripping at home, sometimes alarming the cats!

I looked up Nichola Trabue - his work is interesting.

I like Degas, though not a big fan of Rembrandt.
I went to Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum where Rembrandt's The Night Watchmen is the main attraction. I could not see what all the fuss was about with the painting.
I preferred Amsterdam's Stedlijk where there is more modern art on display.
