BEST INTRO'

This afternoon, there was a discussion with a friend about the best introductions to a song. The discussion got heated.

We suggested Pink Floyd’s Money, T. Rex’s Get It On, Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water, The Cure’s A Forest, David Bowie's The Jean Genie, Joy Division’s Atmosphere, Public Image Ltd’s Public Image, Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive, Simple Minds' Don't You, Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer, Primal Scream’s Movin’ On Up, The Osmonds' Crazy Horses, Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak, Wild Cherry’s Play That Funky Music, Hawkwind's Silver Machine, Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, Alice Cooper’s School’s Out, Hotel Costes’ S.O.S, Hot Chocolate's You Sexy Thing, Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain, The Who's My Generation, Alabama 3’s Hotel California, David Bowie's V-2 Schneider, Odyssey's Hang Together, The Specials' Ghost Town, and numerous Michael Jackson songs.

We decided the intro' of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was a song in itself and decided that the intro' of New Order's Blue Monday was the whole song.

We could not think of an outstanding intro' of any song by The Beatles. We passed on Elton John, Chic, The Doors, Blur, Roxy Music, Bruce Springsteen, Take That, Kraftwerk, Sex Pistols, 10cc, Blondie, Coldplay, Eagles, REM, Genesis, Black Sabbath, Oasis, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beach Boys and The Clash. And we drew a blank at good intros' of reggae and soul songs.

We both want to be a DJ in another life, moving from song to song.

But, after a lot of thinking and after playing the intro' to Mud's Tiger Feet, we both decided our best intros. My friend chose Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer as the best intro'!!!

My best intro' to a song is The Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter. Keith Richards is a guitar genius!

 AeroSmiths, Walk This Way has a pretty good intro. The Kinks, You Really Got Me...
There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.
