THE MATHS OF SWINGING

A post on [blog LisaLipgloss]’ blog prompted me to post this mathematical analysis of meeting for sex.

Below was supposed to be a photo of a foursome, but then I noticed a stray hand in the bottom right hand corner, so it’s a fivesome, unless the man at the top has a very long arm!

If two single people meet for sex on this site – or, for that matter, any other sex dating site, there is one relationship. But if more people are meeting for sex together, the number of relationships involved multiplies. Therefore, it is easier for singles than couples and groups to successfully meet for sex because there are far fewer relationships to go wrong.

Below is the maths (or, as Americans say, the math) of several meeting scenarios:

TWOSOME
If two people - A and B - meet, there is only one relationship: A-B.

THREESOME
If three people meet - A, B and C – meet, there are three relationships: A-B, A-C, and B-C.

FOURSOME
If four people meet – A, B, C and D – meet, there are six relationships: A-B, A-C, A-D, B-C, B-D, and C-D.

FIVESOME
If five people meet – A, B, C, D and E – meet, there are ten relationships: A-B, A-C, A-D, A-E, B-C, B-D, B-E, C-D, C-E, and D-E.

SIXSOME
If six people meet – A, B, C, D, E and F – meet, there are fifteen relationships: A-B, A-C, A-D, A-E, A-F, B-C, B-D, B-E, B-F, C-D, C-E, C-F, D-E, D-F, and E-F.

When meeting people, it only needs one relationship to go wrong for the meet not to work. Other things being equal, which of course they’re not, it is much easier for singles than couples to successfully meet.

Do you agree with this logic?
If not, where does the logic fall down?

We have had lots of foursomes. And we had a sixsome meet once; the sex was brilliant. But the odds of it working, according to the maths above, were stacked against us!

    Quoting  :

You are right, there are at least another two people in the photo. On closer inspection, there may be three other people as the two hands in the right hand corner of the photo do not look as if they belong to the same person. It could be a sevensome!
