SHE DONE HIM WRONG

"Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?", as Mae West said in the 1933 She Done Him Wrong film.

In this film, also starring Cary Grant, Mae West came out with the line, "Why don't you come up some time and see me?".

In her next film, I'm No Angel, Mae West changed this line to its classic form, "Come up and see me sometime".

In 1927, Mae West was sentenced to prison for ten days for "corrupting the morals of youth"!

She once said, "A hard man is good to find", "It's not the men in my life that count, it's the life in my men", and "Love conquers all things except poverty and toothache".

Quite a woman!

Is Joan Rivers the modern-day Mae West?

Does Joan Come close to Mae, or do we just perceive Mae as a legend because she's deid?

I'd like to think that Mae wouldn't have has as much work done as Joan. Also, Mae oozes a sexuality and sensuality that, for me anyway, Joan Rivers is completely devoid of.

Apologies to any Joan fans.

We think Mae West paved the way for Joan Rivers. Their lines are similar in their irreverent tone.
We saw Joan Rivers very recently, advertised as her last tour before she dies, and she was one of the most hilarious comics we've ever seen.
