Some thoughts about the main page - your feedback requested Let me start by saying that I've returned after the launch of the "new" main page and have not participated in much of the debate about it. I think I share many of the feelings expressed by members - some things are better and some can be better executed (a polite way of saying worse). As I have been entrusted to work on the design of the page, I would like to let you know where I'm headed and get your feedback. First, I've pushed back the "mandatory" switch to a new design by two weeks to give time to improve it. Of the original page, I like the full "face load" of sexy member photos. Of the new design, I like the energy of the activity feed as it updates in real time. While we are still working of what things show up in the feed and it's design, I think it has potential. The first part we will focus on is cleaning up the left column of the main page (I've attached a bit of my cleanup). Hopefully, this should go live in a test later this week. Next, we will clean up the "Community" section to get rid of the (silly) top groups, become more a promo section for magazine and blogs (instead of showing 2 blogs there). It's hard to use that space for much more than a promo for now. I'm looking at a way to put a "Open Mode" button on the top right of the new main page (e.g., to the right of "Live Action" that will convert these 3 tabs to look like the original main page (and turn off the activity feed). Clicking again, goes back to "activity mode". I think this will get the best of both designs. Finally, we are cleaning up the friend's network to play a bigger part of the main page. Once that is complete, you'll see a third tab to see your friend's activities. Love to get your thoughts... with apologies beforehand for any stresses the main page "update" has caused.

Since the activities takes up prime real estate on the main page, I would prefer to see the activity updates of those in my friends network. I'm so happy that to see that a new tab is going to be added. Will the last tab choice going to be remembered when we close the browser or log out, or do we have to click on the tab each and every time? Can we have a settings in Preferences to choose which tab should show by default? I'm all for seeing friends' updates, but have no interest whatsoever in knowing that some random stranger uploaded a new cock/pussy pic. How hard would it be to add another tab in that section that shows the previews of new messages?

At first I didn't care for it when I tried it. But yesterday I made the switch and it seems fairly easy to navigate. It seems like it'll be fine. In my opinion.

I like to make this a better site for all of us to use. Far as the main page glad you delayed the launch to give it more time for all of us to get use to the idea. I think things need to change as long it is done the right way not the wrong way. I am not interested in global activities. I would like to see my friends activities but only at my choosing, not in the center of the page all the time. I turn off the activities on the current home page. Would like to turn off activities on the new home page if possible.

Welcome back and great to see you again. As for my front page it is ok but in parts of it near the bottom it is always seems to be loading. Takes far too long for everything to appear. Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

Is it possible to revert to the old practice off page turning.. These days if we click on any profile while on who's online page, we get sent back to the first page after opening/reading the profile. Instead where we last stop... It's so maddening to start from page one again... Thanks.

One of the ongoing problems I have noticed that never seem to get corrected is the dropping of letters when I am trying to type in a post in the chat room. At times it appears about every fourth letter is dropped and I have to back up and retype super slowly.

I'd like to see the "Time since last visit" counter fixed so that it's the same everywhere on the site...it hasn't worked right since I joined in 2005. .

Something else I'd like to see fixed is the "Your membership expires/Autorenew is set to" notification permanent on the front page...it currently disappears if Autorenew is set to "ON". Furthermore, in addition to disappearing from the home page, it automatically switches to "ON" when you buy a paid membership, even if it was set to "OFF." . LEAVE IT THE WAY THE MEMBER SETS IT! And make it prominently displayed on the member's home page. .

I actually like the new homepage, not necessarily the activity feed of people that are so far away from me that I scratch my head though. What I find a bit frustrating is that when on my iPad using the Desktop view, if I click anything on the homepage other than the very top navigation bar, I am converted to the mobile version...I kinda wish that didn't happen. A link to change to mobile version might be nice, just as I can click to use the desktop version...

Using Chrome and being a standard member. My friend would like to report this one. The upgrade button is over the view all members for mods to be able get to the banning screens. We have an issue with the new home pages if you log on via chrome and are a standard member. Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

A great welcome back to someone who really knows what this site should be about. You mention the Message Center. There is a major problem with the current one! On the old (proper) system, when a spammer had their profile removed (for Charge Card Fraud), the text of the messages they sent dissapeared to be replaced in your inbox page with something like "Member removed for Abuse" If you can look at my Message Canter, the top 10 messages are all pasted Soliciting ones from Card Fraudsters who've had their profiles removed, sometimes before I got the alert that a new message was waiing. I can still see the messages, with the details of the other websites that they're trying to con me into visiting. Please kich a*se and arrange for messages from fraudsters to be made invisible as soon as their profiles are removed. Thanks.

Personally i really hate ALL the changes the site has made since i joined in 2008. In an ideal world i would like the old homepage back which i had when i joined in 2008. PLEASE kindly put a link to site support blog back on the homepage as it was before! Also a link that takes me directly to my own blog. A link to the groups i'm in would also be helpful on the homepage.

@Andrew: I had to use "Quote" because I couldn't get "Respond" to work. . @_Cheri_: Click on the word "Community" on the tool bar...DO NOT click on any of the menu items, only on the word "Community." . You'll see the generic Community page (titled "Community")...if you look in the upper left-hand corner you'll see a list of links under the sub heading "Quick Links." The link to the Site Support Blog is in that list. .

JT, Andrew misread your post about the "return to top of page" and read it as "return to main page" I agree, the return to top of page is great and should be on all pages.

The new HP is a day away from activation and the member activity function is still not working....the blue dots just blink on and off as if they are loading the page, but the activity never loads. Loads fine on the old page.

Anderw, I'd like to welcome you back. I'm not the only one that feels this way from what I've read but things went to hell in a hand basket when you left and Penthouse took over. I've been a Gold Paying member for a very long time, not as long as Koffla, but still a long time, and I agree with everything he said. I do have some issues as do others. A few weeks ago I wasn't able to see the old home page. The prompts to take me back didn't work. I called customer service the man I spoke to didn't know what he was doing, nor do most of the people trying to help you. If something doesn't work just clear out your cookies, and cache. This might help in some cases but not all. When I told him that wasn't the cause he did nothing but argue with me. I must not of been the only one to complain because the problem was fixed with in two hours. The second problem I have that for some reason most of my setting have been changed, from the activities, to my renewal date. I for one would like to see the activities area go away. I don't like it, and I don't use it. About the redesign of the home page. I like the way I can see everything at a glimpse on the old homepage. I don't like having to click on one tab to see this, and then click on another take to see something else. I don't see how that's an improvement over the current homepage. On the new home page it gives me things that I could care less about. I dislike the Members Activity, Global, Near You, and Community on the new home page. This is nothing but distracting, and again I have to go from one tab to another to get where I want to so. This makes no rhyme or reason to me. The new mail feature is terrible. I always thought you should be able to keep any emails you got for as long as you wanted. I did not like that after three months? they were taken away. I also don't like the fact that if I want to attach my profile to an email I can no longer do it. The previous version was just fine, so why change it? I use to blog quite a bit but stopped, and now I go to my favorite bloggers read what they have to say, and make comments. But from what I'm reading here most of the complaints your getting are from the bloggers. I'm sorry to burst their bubble but there are others on the site that don't blog that are unhappy with things too. It's time they listen to all not just bloggers. This is a social site as you said, it's not just a bloggers site as I would believe after reading many of the comments. Again, it's good to have you back. I hope you stay for a long time, and change Affairlook back into the site it use to be. Again, I think Koffla said it very well "It think your timing is too little too late. Affairlook with their lousy service and incompetence already lost a huge chunk of their long term loyal paying customers. I've been here long enough [13 years as a gold member] to know nothing will ever change, in fact, they are worse than ever. Ever heard of "never bite the hand that feeds you, because it will be the same hand that chokes you to death?" The site is grasping at straws. The site basic functionality issues are the worst I've ever seen in this place, too many site problems. It will take a complete site overhaul and working basic features for me to pay ever again.
