Added ability to unban banned posters on your blog

Until today, you could permanently ban someone from posting on your blog. When you did, all their previous posts were deleted. Starting today, when you ban someone, only new posts are banned. Also, you can see who you've banned from posting in your blog - and unban them. When you unban them, new posts will show up.

It would be nice if we could select posts upon which we wish to receive comments or not!

Andrew replies on 3/31/2006 1:03 pm:
Yah... good idea. Might take some time to code up tho but will keep it in mind.

I have question for ya. Not about this subject, but about the blogs. When you have people in your watched blogs, when you read the newest posts, why can't they go to the bottom of the list instead of the top? This way the unread ones can move up to the top.
Thanks,
Cin

Andrew replies on 3/31/2006 1:04 pm:
I believe it's sorted by the more recent post, not the most recent and unread post. Will keep it in mind

Over the past month I have read all the updates that are happening - and so many people seem to be appreciative of most things. As we all know, it's impossible to make everyone happy. Personally, for what I use on my blogs...the system was just fine. A bit slow at times, but otherwise all is good for me.

SO - why am I writing?? (I was just trying to kiss up a little) ..lol

There needs to be a way that a person can CHANGE their Member ID.....when people sign up - they are in one frame of mind. But after seeing all the site has to offer....after a few months, you start thinking differently. Seems to me that if I know all my passwords and data info..I should be able to change it. WITHOUT losing all my blogs, hotlist, network friends and such.

Do I have any hope?? Or am I just stuck with this forever?

Thanks for all that you do....I will try to expand my horizons and venture into some of the newly added features of the blog world! {=}

Andrew replies on 3/31/2006 9:45 pm:
Well... we had an admin tool to do this but it wasn't 100% successful so we put it on the back burner. If we dust it off (and fix it), I'll let you know.

I love all the changes being made even though I am just a plain sort of person and do not use most of them.
You have clearly earned the money I spend on my membership and I thank you.
Now, I just need to know how I can get laid.
Is that a future feature?

My goal when I started this site was to help people explore their sexuality and find others to share the pleasures of life. I wish I could make it happen for everyone - good luck in the journey!

In what way would you like to order your blogs?

i would also like the ability to ban someone from my blog, without them ever having posted in it, and not allow the banned person to read my blog, OR my profile.

there are members that visit all the time, and they do this only to upset me i am sure, because they are already blocked, and would know that i blocked them.. one very offensive person looks at my profile DAILY.. and he has sent me veiled threats...i feel like i am being stalked... but looking is not violating ToU, neither is "suggesting" so i am powerless to prevent this.

thanks

I will never know why I would want to unban someone...

After all... you wouldn't ban them unless you had a good reason?

Andrew replies on 3/31/2006 9:49 pm:
Hey, that's what I thought until I heard the complaints... there is often fights between bloggers that gets resolved.

First off...I simply love everything you are doing...and how responsive you are to your customer's needs and desires. While I'm sure you will not please everyone everytime...no one could fault your attempts to do so.

On a side note: Are we able to make certain fonts, colours, sizes, etc defaults for use on our blogs/comments? Or do we always have to remember to change them before we post any blogs and/or comments?

I'd love to know...and if it isn't possible, it would make a wonderful feature... :::hint hint::: Or perhaps a 'perk' for paying members!

Andrew replies on 4/2/2006 10:10 pm:
Yes, you can use any font or color you wish anytime.

1. Yes, I am thinking about away to give a blogger more control of who can read their blog. Basically trying to find more ways that women bloggers can be protected from abuse by grumpy guys (assuming that they want the protection).

2. There is no ban on flirting with the CEO if you are soft and tempting...

What I miss in your post is the fact that so far people were banning others WITHOUT KNOWING it because (unlike deletion of a comment) there was NO confirm 'box'.... if you got to the 'ban' link by accident, that was it, and all comments were gone.

It has happened to quite a few. And some may be surprised to see (like I was) that they have members banned they didn't know (I had three handles banned, handles that were supposedly 'unbanned' by peepz from the staff quite a while back). So, question is: if someone NOW unbans those that were wrongly banned earlier, will their comments be reinstated when a blogger asks for such a restoration?

Andrew replies on 4/2/2006 10:12 pm:
Yah... I guess I could restore posts on a case by case basis... hopefully, there will not be any takers

Hi Luvpump I do have a question and if you can get to it eventually that would be a good thing. No hurry however just curious. I was wondering if you are able to look up the handles who have you on "watched blogs"? I see that now you can see all the members who have looked at your blogs but not who is "watching" you.

My only complaint is that a response doesn't "show" imediately. I understand the reason for it but I don't care for it. Thanks for all your hard work.

Andrew replies on 4/2/2006 10:02 pm:
Yah, might considering having a way to be a public "fan" of a blog. We do that on some of our other sites.

Fabulous, utterly fabulous!

Now all we need is a way to block them from even LOOKING at our blogs as others have asked for and I'll be one happy Aussie gal.
