Who wants to try out the new Downloadable IMC?

Who wants to try out the new Downloadable IMC? We have a new version of the downloadable IMC for you to try out. It's still in development, but it's ready enough to take for a spin. What we are looking for in a tester: - Ideally you use the downloadable version now - Any Mac users (this version you'll be able to use too) - Willing to use it exclusively for a few days - Be willing to tell us everything you think about it, also outline the issues you are experiencing. What do you need to do to test it? - Add your name in the comments - I'll email you a link to the downloadable version in your message center - Download and have fun I'm only posting for testers here, but if you know someone who uses the downloadable version, please turn them onto this post. |

 Only IF you can guarantee that it can be removed completely and contains not a shred of Flash...if it's html5 I'm in...

Whoever re-wrote the code concerning our profile pics...should be excised...that's the problem...some nob re-sized our profile pictures...I re-loaded mine back up...seems to be showing now...

I've tried the old downloadable version, didn't like it, prefer the web version, but don't use the IMC all that much. If you need testers, I'll give it a go.

I thought pages loaded slow before...with this new IMC it takes forever for pages to load...coupled with the fact that even though I've got "Public Broadcasting" checked...when I try to view my broadcast...it says I'm broadcasting in private...add to that having to have two windows open in order to see who's online...sorry way too frustrating to use...and if we can't view our own cams...and it's by design that way...really BAD choice by who put this together...not even going to try the "group chat" because I hate having to re-start my machine every 15 minutes...EPIC FAIL...

Early impressions of new IMC I, too, do not like two windows to manipulate. On the beta system, I would click on Incoming, then Settings, then choose to make an audible tone if I had an incoming message. The only way I can seem to do this on this IMC is to click on Broadcast and when that window opens, click on Messages, and then make my selection. Unfortunately, when I click OK it also chooses whatever is listed under Broadcast. Therefore it launches my webcam. I have to go back in to Broadcast settings and stop broadcast. Although that is what comes up, my webcam remains on until I log off the IMC. (This may be normal since it does the same thing on beta) When I do launch my webcam, no cam icon comes up beside my handle, so I assumed I wasn't broadcasting. But somebody did view me, so I am assuming I was broadcasting and that this IMC does not indicate to the broadcaster with an icon. When I attempt to page someone, a chat page immediately appears that shows my initial comment, followed by the pagee saying exactly the same thing. Sometimes a note appears saying xxxx is not available. My question is how does the IMC know this? So far, I have not been able to raise anybody by paging. I'll keep trying with this. The default listing is "Distance". Although this is the setting I use most often, sometimes I want to view by "Age" or "Number of Viewers". This IMC has the same buttons to click, but will not give me any setting but "Distance". So far, I want to go back to beta, but I will stick with this and play with it some more.

The sort reverts back after 2 seconds and no matter which column you click on, it only brings the farthest distance on that page to the top but the rest of the list stays the same.

No sound for incoming pages? I'd like to see the age and location of the person who's paging me. Can't open the profiles since I get redirected to some totally different site. Why does the webcam launch when I go to set the sound settings? No ban option when there's an incoming page? OK, who's fastforwarding the smileys?

Another glitch If I click on xxxx on the IMC, and then go to view his profile, I get the following window. "xxxxm=236508359_85649 was not found". I've tried this with various members and always get the same window. I've launched my webcam various times with still no icon by my handle. The only people to view me are ones that connect from the alert bar. Still not able to view profile from IMC(still does the same as above) and if I try to view a profile from the webcam page, it sends me to a "Join Affairlook" page.

The thumbnail shows up for some profiles and not for others in the incoming pages list, no silhouettes or pic, just a blank spot.

I could really use a ban button on the new IMC . . . simply declining ain't cutting it  The decline link doesn't work but the decline all does.

Does me no good to even try to test this if I Can't view my OWN cam... Or if folks don't even KNOW that I'm broadcasting...see the screen captures...sheesh...[image]
