A New Way to Help Fight Fraud  When you report a member for abuse, there is a new dropdown option called "Suspected Fake Account." How to use it: Go to the members profile and click the "report member for abuse" link. This will help all of us quickly identify fakes and get them off the site. We care about fraud: Everyday our team finds and disables 5000+ fake accounts. We search for patterns that spammers use when flirting, emailing and logging in to find fake accounts. We disable about 97% of all the fakes on the site within the first 24 hours after they register. Being the largest adult dating site puts a pretty big target on us for fraud. We want you to know that we don't want you to get communication from fraud accounts. It has a measurable impact your happiness and our future. This added form of reporting should help get to those we missed. Hopefully we disable them before they send out a flirt or email. Let me know if you see any difference in the time it takes to react to a fraud account. |

Is there also a way to prevent a blocked member from seeing when you are online? They are still able to see when you are online if they go to the "who's online" browsing option. This is dangerous if the person is a stalker and was blocked for that reason. ArtemisJ is Keeping It Real

Standard members can access this method of reporting profiles from within chat. Mind you, reporting a member for offensive behaviour within chat makes no difference whatsoever, so I'll be amazed if this does. Ryan, we have lots of new profiles lately down under, is someone getting ready for summer here? You might like to tell the guys to investigate some of them further. (I'm a standard, so I can't do a lot) AND THE WINNER IS ~~~~ [post 2692868]

Why would a fake turn off a profile...people can't respond to your profile when it's turned off, so it seems that it would be self-defeating for a fake to do that.  .

Earthywoman3, I do have a question for you. I keep on getting flirts from women that are in Ghana who are much younger than my listed age of women that I want to meet. When I saw the flirt I went to the profile and didn't see the drop down that you previously mentioned. So I had to block her from sending me flirts etc. Is there a way that we can block flirts all together? It seems like that a big part of the problem. I don't want to set my cupid email preferences because I do get an occasional email from someone that I don't mind. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do? At the bottom right corner of any given profile, including when you view your own, you can change from New View to Classic View.

I have reported a couple that have not been removed.... dunno whether they proved to be genuine (doubtful they were 'classic' African scam profiles), I did not leave it long enough (watched them in my Hotlist for a few days and then deleted them) or whether the new system is not working/is overwhelmed... I shall continue to try and report my results back. I also have a suggestion for the A/L... can we install some arrows that allow us to flick to the next question without having to navigate back to the questions page? You know like in e-mail where you can skip up and down your messages without having to return to the inbox. Cheers.

dont know if this has anything to do with any of this but i have told about 5 ppl about Affairlook they have tried to sign up got the email with password etc, logged on and logged off after a few mins to wait for account to be approved for IMC, when they tried to log back in they got a message saying something about security and check your email, and they got a new password, that wouldnt work and there account had been closed all within a 1 to 30 mins. is Affairlook having troubles letting ppl sign up? I have also been told the same thing is true for if you update your profile, it gets closed. can Affairlook afford to lose any members? free or paying? does anyone at Affairlook even know this is happening? sometimes wonder about this site, I havent seen any fixes at all if anything its harder to view cams and chat

This site is going downhill...there is a lot of spam and fake profiles on here. Really dissapointed not happy with the site anymore!!!

I like the increased speed at which the fakes are booted but there ought to be some way to have those profile names taken off your "flirt" list. Right now I've got about 330 "views" and about 205 "flirts". About 30 of those "flirts" are actually from real people and it is a PITA to have to dig through the whole list to try to keep up with the real names.

reporting is all well and good, but when consistently, NOTHING is done about the reported abuse it's beyond frustrating. i went through hell of a solid year with 2 women in a chat room over NOTHING, I repetedly called the abuse team and had them look in the chat room while the abuse was happening. On each occasion of my calls the abuse member did see what was happening and i was told it would be reported and the proper actions taken. when it escalated to emails on Affairlook, was told by the abuse team exactly what they needed me to do . I did as told to the last letter ; I faxed them multiple articles of proof and so on... i took me 2 days to do all that was asked of me, and in the end I was told that I lacked a screen saved image for one of the emails. Because I lacked that one item, no action has been taken even in the face of mounds of the full proof. So, Affairlook talks the talk, but in reality, they don't do squat about flagrant harassment against innocent members (which is another point, I have a golden membership , moderate successful groups here and the harassers are not even members, it's not right). Needless to say , i've been very disappointed in Affairlook's lack of taking action in my case. Banning or suspending members should not be taken lighty, but action shoudk be taken when there is obvious proof. sorry for going on .... Thank you for reading my post and I hope SOON that things will change for the beter in this area. MsTrue1

While I have set back and watched this site fall totally apart, I will start a crusade to let people know what Affairlook has become nothing more than a scam site. You want here the last.
