Make a Suggestion, Report a Bug

In the past I've run one suggestion box per month, and a separate area for Bugs. I think it's easier to have one post up and keep it as a running conversation.

Well here is that post. Got a suggestion or new bug? Post it here.

Is there any way to not list private blogs under the "recent posts"? I like to look at those but end up going to 5 in a row that are "friends only" If they are "friends only", they should not be listed on the public page. People want them to be private, so let's not list them.

Your group, Live From Affairlook, is missing from my list of groups that I belong to, on my front page and my profile. Is that a new bug?

DELETE

I would suggest a couple of points re 'delete'.

Some bloggers prefer to view the comments, and might never check them I'd love to delete my comment, no point in having it there. Or, even better, to see it before placing my comment that it will be viewed first.
Sometimes even for normal comments I'd like to use 'delete', often typos etc, forgetting 'no' etc, and the text doesn't make any sense anymore.

Not sure what is the situation regarding testimonials??? Would also suggest to have the delete function for the testimonials I have made, not only for the ones I've received. During the years things might change...

That happens from time to time and yes it sucks, what is worse is that they and also Ryan tend to not take much of what we say seriously.

    That's a good point.

I think the blog might still be worth reading, so it should be listen under recent posts. What might work is a way for you to know this is a private post before clicking in. Like a little icon or something.
I think there are 2 different thing for 'friends only':
one allows you to read but only friends can comment.
What this person was meaning was the situation when the rest can only see 'only friends can see this blog' etc when clicking the link.

So no chance even to read the blog, useless to have it on the list!!!

What's up with the bling?? I've sent YOU such a question in the past week, and the help desk a few in the past couple of weeks...nobody says a damn thing.

I use Firefox as well (which is why I quoted this man) and I don't like using IE, so what does that mean? I can't do any bling any more? I'll go to the link that was posted on Oralo's question. I do hope you answer or SOMEONE answers what the hell is going on with the bling. It's the 2nd main reason I even come to your site. Blogging is the first.

Fixing it would be a good idea --

I guess this is a suggestion, because it's not a bug. Does anyone get banned in chat these days? I mean, aside from when giving out a private email address?

We have some fairly extreme abusive behaviour going on in the Australia chat room, I just don't see how someone can call another member a "fat cow" and plenty worse, including their actual name, in the room, and yet there are no consequences for this.

Thanks to all who voted for me!
AND THE WINNER IS

The site support blog has a monthly bug post, the latest bug for August that has received a response is from the fifth.

Processing comments might be a start, even if you can't sort the bugs.

Also, the blog doesn't show comments until they have been accepted by site support. This is silly because if you can't see what other people are complaining about then you're probably going to duplicate comments - which wastes everyone's time.

I have a suggestion for a new blog post for you, Ryan. Someone has a poll going asking people whether they have more than one profile. Does the site know how many profiles each of us has? Maybe you could do an official poll, or use real stats, and tell us how many profiles the average AFFer has and how we use them. It seems like an interesting topic, to me.

I do agree with you that the support here leaves much to be desired, many times you don't get replies to your inquiries, and when you do the replies are often off-topic,non sensical,or they don't address the issue that you mentioned.

I would like to see a change in the mobile version of Affairlook. In the standard version, some members have no picture visible in their main profile page, but one can be seen if the photo area is explored. On the mobile version, for members having this situation, could you let us know if there are pictures or not? It's too tedious to look for a pict by opening each profile.

Hey,

I know this has been brought up before, but I'm curious - is there any chance of allowing standard members to upgrade to silver/gold using their 'points' without having to go through 'confirm ID'? I'd be all for that, and I think it would help the site in any number of ways.

(as a side note, I did decide to bite the bullet and confirm my ID a few years ago, sent out the copy of my passport et al - and got bumped back with a request for a utility or similar bill with my address included, information that I thought was a bridge too far, seeing I already felt somewhat uncomfortable sending out a copy of my passport. What were they going to ask for next before confirming my ID, fingerprints and dental? Birth certificate? Ergo, I never completed the process.)

The first part of your comment is in the works, being able to use points to upgrade without confirming.

The second part, I hope Ryan addresses, but you may also wish to contact CS and ask them about this. This is the first time I've heard of them wanting anything beyond passport/govt issued ID.

Thanks, Nassy, for keeping me in the loop! As for the 'confirm ID' extra request - it was years ago by now, and I've long recycled that correspondence. It just put me off every trying again - as I said, I was not particularly comfortable with the amount of info I was already disclosing, and the request for more info left a bad taint in my mouth.

Now, another issue - I was on cam last night (after a month plus offline) and I noticed there are some major changes in the way the incoming IMs/pages work. They don't seem to time out (from my perspective, as a cammer - eventually the page does time out, but it remains taking up space. It then reads 'timed out' or something close). When pages build up - I often have multiple pages - I can no longer read new incoming pages as the older pages remain at the top of the screen. I can scroll down, but an new page bumps me back to the top of the page - and I seem to have no option to clear pages, whether active or inactive, except by 'declining' them. Also as pages build up, my ability to decline pages individually disappears, and in order to create a clean slate I resorted to using the 'decline all' feature.

Since a big part of what I do on cam is *talk* to people, and I try to answer every page verbally (I don't 'accept' pages normally, because I have a limit to the amount of incoming information I can deal with, and that would surpass that limit. I've already got my eyes on the cam, the pages, and the chatroom, after all - there's a limit to my multi tasking abilities!), this isn't working very well for me. I'm missing far more pages than previously; I feel my only option to clear pages is to 'decline' them, which feels borderline rude; and, all in all, it makes it very hard to keep a conversation going or respond to pages.

It's utterly possible - nay, likely! - that I've not learned to navigate the new system yet, and there are simple solutions to all of these issues.

Enlighten me?

thanks,

m

Was just looking at cams, notice now you can not resize the cam window when watching someones cam. Is that a planned change? We sure hope not.

Re: the new page system - it's really unmanageable for me. I'll have 60 to a 100 pages coming in; I'll only be able to see the first 6 to 7 (yes, I can use the scroll bar, but any new page boots me back to the top of the page and the original first six pages); and my options to clear the screen are only 'accept all' (impossible!) or 'decline all' (decidedly unfriendly!). I'm not able to respond to nor acknowledge the vast majority of people paging me, and I truly dislike that - and the people paging may not understand the situation and thus feel ignored, hurt, or insulted. In addition, getting rid of rude or abusive pagers is almost impossible.

I tried using the 'group chat' feature in hopes that it would alleviate some of these problems (and I thought it could have the additional advantage of keeping the crassest comments down to a dull roar, as people are less likely to be utterly abusive in a 'pubic setting'), but couldn't get it to work at all for me - although people reported that they were using it, I couldn't see their responses at all on my screen. Is this how it's designed to function, or is this a glitch?

Please let me know.

On a better note, I've a suggestion for improving - it would be great if a member could arrange his or her 'testimonials' in the order they'd like them to be read, rather than in the order they're received in. However, this is a very *small* thing... I'm much more concerned with the new page system during camming.

Thanks for letting me know it was not just me. Now for some more news if I open a cam using firefox I can re-size it, open it with IE I an not re-size it. Maybe that helps narrow it down.

Luvpump, aka Andrew, is not the owner of this site for a few years now. It is currently owned by Penthouse.

Btw, what you posted there was a statement and not a question. If you looked at that blog at all, you would see there have been no recent responses to anyone and why you would expect to get one is beyond me.
