What's up with broadcasting recently?  Some of you may have noticed that it has been difficult to broadcast for the last few weeks. Why is this happening? One of our biggest complaints from broadcasters was that they would see themselves broadcasting, but viewers just got a 'connecting' screen. This happened because the broadcast was failing, but only the viewers knew there was a problem. We added some checks in early February to make sure a broadcaster was still really broadcasting. Now when a broadcast fails, both the broadcater and viewer will switch back to a "connecting" screen. Who is this affecting? Mainly people with slower connections to the internet than are needed to broadcast. Before people with slower connections thought they were broadcasting when they really weren't. Now they know when a problem in connection has occurred. This has resulted in a spike of complaints from broadcasters. What's next? 1) Short term (within the next few weeks), we will increase the framerate for people with faster connections and downgrade the framerate and quality for lower connections. This should keep everyone online, just at different frame rates based on their connection speed. 2) Long term (within the next few months), We are moving to some new server software soon that we expect will help with connection issues. |

If you are using audio...the disconnect/connecting cycles faster...can stay connected if not using audio for longer...about 1 hours worth...and even when you try to stop broadcasting...it tries to connect...only solution is to close the window empty history and cache and re-open the window...just sayin...

People have to realize that what WD40 said is TRUE!! Many are not turning on the sound because they know it interferes... so for those out there that are doing this.. STOP FREAKING ORDERING PEOPLE TO TURN ON THE SOUND!!! roflmao Not everyone has the ability to run everything on the computer...lol and some just may not want it on either. The idea that it is somehow "your" private broadcast and being a cam director does get out of hand quite a bit. There ARE private broadcasts, but unless you are told specifically it is one, assume it is NOT and that there are OTHERS watching also.. PLEASE!!

I sadly see over on the SSB that once again the programmers have tried to disable our viewing of our own cam...I will maintain that this is the only way for us to confirm that our cams are working...and so that we can fine tune audio settings. To make it so that we cannot open our own cams is incredibly short sighted.

Not being able to view my own cam would be a serious problem. I use it to ensure that I am still broadcasting and available for other and to double check my sound settings. D4

when are they fixing the issue where the cammer is seeing a persons name listed as viewing them 2 or 5 times? everytime the viewers gets dropped and re-joins they name gets added to the cammers viewing list again and again... also people are being BANNED without the cammer doing it, I have posted this problem several times. thought this blog was called Affairlook is listening??? i dont think ANYONE should be banned from viewing a persona cam UNLESS the cammer clicks "BAN USER" the site is made to meet and chat with ppl, not BAN ppl without you knowing. if you are really reading these posts, then fix this problem!!!! make it so ppl DONT get BANNED unless they do it them self!!!!! just because they set their filter to 1 setting doesnt mean they dont want a person to view or chat with them, I have ppl in my network and i'm being banned without them doing it, i'm tured of explaining to friends how to UN-BAN me FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why don't you just give up on the web cam/ chat thing- you have been "working on it" for 4 years now and it still is a HUGE mess. Give it up and let people cam / chat on their yahoo/msn acccounts.

I don't watch many cams so I don't typically have issues. Recently I have turned on a few cams and they have said the cammer had stopped broadcasting. Upon asking them, they did not stop. So I reload their cam and get them back just fine. However, now my handle will appear a second time even though I shut down the cam window of the prior viewing. If this happens again, I can show up a third or fourth time on their list. However many times I have to load their cam to continue watching.

However many times I have to load their cam to continue watching." yes this is a problem i have posted on here several times, and yes if u keep re-joining the cam u will appear 3 4 5 how ever many times u join. same with getting baned from a cam and the person on cam didnt do it, i have like 100 ppl in my network, and i have been banned while viewing more then 1/2 of them and have had to explain how to un-ban ppl to them, all cuz Affairlook wont put an un-ban button on the imc, instead, they put it in the account settings like 1/2 down the page under "blocked members" and dont tell the general Affairlook poulation where it is, if it wasnt for this blog i wouldnt have a freaking clue where to un-ban anyone. it would just be really nice if someone from Affairlook would let us know they are reading any of this and working on the problems, and list what problems they r working on,

as nascarfox mentioned above, i am experiencing the same issue here... i was on my cam last night, and my cam dropped out of the list of currently broad casting within 5 minutes or so, so i reload my cam, and i was there, but dropped again...this continued happened till i finally quit after numerous attempt to stay on list for about 30 minutes... i am on my cam on Affairlook for about two years, and as long as i know, this problem did exist from the beginning of my time, but this month is definitely worse...perhaps something to do with the change you just made to accommodate the slower connections??? two years ago when i started, we had good over 100 ladies on cam after 10 pm...now it's been half of that...perhaps due to the problem, the people used to be on cam regularly is shying away??? now i am not as much as used to...but i can totally understand...it's bee so frustrating...annoying...and it's not fun anymore to be on my cam...

Whenever problems occur Affairlook blame slower connection speeds and yet these problems do NOT occur on other sites is this because Affairlook has grown so/too big?

it's simple and it all ways goes tits up when someone fiddles about with something else. What pisses me off most is the fact that help blame my internet connection. it is not my fault it is your end. I'd be inclined to suggest some staff members set up profiles on here from their own homes and use the site as a customer would, and then they can see what we all mean..  So well put and to the point I couldn't agree more Ionlyshow!

Affairlook has gone crazy in the past few weeks... people i have chatted with for ages are being deleted, thank god i chat with them on other things then here, but they tell me if you make any chnage to your profile no matter how small of a change, the next time you go to log in you get a message that says "there is a problem with your account please check your email" but there is not email to check, and when you try doing a forget password, you get there is no such email in Affairlook's records. i have also told some friends to join and they tried, only to have the same thing happen, as soon as they log out the account is closed. I guess Affairlook does not want any new people to join, hell they dont even want old members to stay LOL this is the second time in the past week I have made a post regarding this, and again "Affairlook is listening" but to who??? cuz it sure as hell isnt to anyone on here IF YOU ARE REALLY READING THIS Affairlook SAY THAT YOU ARE AND TELL US YOU ARE GONNA FIX SOME STUFF.
