Yes, There is A Problem With Group Posts UPDATE 1/27 at 5PM Pacific: A fix was pushed to the site just now. You should see your posts in Groups now. I see some of the backlogged posts showing up, but not all. It may be a delay in getting them approved, not sure. You've noticed, and I just wanted to confirm that Group posts are not posting right now. It's bug #ITNL-1317 for those of you following along at home. We are working on it as a P1, which is the highest priority. What's happening: None of your group polls or posts are showing up after you submit them. This happens with new Topic/Poll posts, or updates to old ones. Why is this happening: All group polls and posts get reviewed by customer service before they post. They are getting stuck in the customer service review queue. As of right now, I see about 3797 topics stuck in the queue. What are we doing about it, and when will it be fixed: As noted above, it's being worked on at our highest priority. I know the people working on it and I'll post when I get a better idea when a fix is ready. We are talking days not weeks. My suggestion would be to hold of on posting or updating your posts until this is resolved. I would imagine the backlog will get posted once this is resolved, but just to be safe I'd hold off. |

ryan - thanks for the post i opened up a new group and i still dont have no topics showing up at all yesterday it told me i had 14 pending tonight i have 0 pending the group is called -Around The World keyword-friends i had the smokin lounge but give it back to the owner of it made a group myself and have paying folks in the room and there mad but told them not to post no more threads in the room til the onces in there show up so were waiting for u folks to do your work should i call or just leave as is .as there working on the matter of the topic's for my room ..hope u had a good vac.i know its not just my room but others as well very truly yours

Groups with active threads (as opposed to groups that mostly chat) are effectively dead until this is fixed. My members are getting restless/pissed..... D4

I'm wondering how it can POSSIBLY be a review glitch when posts to existing threads DO show up, and new threads show up in "View Recent". If a post/thread shows up AT ALL, I have to assume that it was reviewed and approved. The problem is with the display of the posts/threads, NOT with the review process. IMNSHO.

My group ( Ottawa - Capital Sex ) is also not showing any new group topics. I am paying for gold membership here, and have been for going on 5 years. This problem NEEDS to be given highest priority and fixed ! Also, the group album thingie is crap. The system has the capacity to send emails out to all members, yet this company repeatedly choses over and over NOT to inform people of changes, or bugs. Highly unprofessional. No wonder membership rates are falling.

11 a.m. EST Thursday, and I finally see some of the "lost" threads from the 20th and 21st, as well as a new one from today, showing up on discussion boards. Yippee!!

I have to agree with most of the above. And really, WHY does CS need to review every post and comment? Topics that were posted as far back as last Thursday are showing up: and they are randomly (or apparently randomly} stuffed in amidst active topics. I think there are moderators that take their responsibilities to their group members seriously and are not looking to "skirt the rules" whatever they might be (they do appear to randomly change) of the site. Sometimes it does appear that the juvenile and sophmoric behaviour exhibited by many members of this site is directly proportional to the headmaster-ish view the company takes of its members. Last I checked - this was Affairlook, not Adult in content of photos but not in level of responsibility we ask or expect of you because we can, will, and do screen everything. Well - all but the bots. *sigh* . It is sad. And, the outrage that you see is only a microcosm of the whole - because the "customer care" of the site has become a bigger oxymoron than accidentally on purpose. ~ [blog kelidgh]~ I am, indeed

I'm seeing that right now! I'm beginning to think that there were two problems going on. Looking at the posts in the "View Recent" lists, now that most of the new posts have been approved, I see that ALL of the new posts from the 20-27 that were made by STANDARD MEMBERS were held in the review queue and never made it to the View Recent list, until today. It was probably these posts that Site Support and Ryan were seeing. I never knew that gold members had a different process of post approval, but it would seem that we do! So it probably was both a problem of displaying new topics from gold members, as well as approving new topics from standards. (??)
