Straight Men Get Annoyed by Gay Men - Why Do You Answer Pages? You may have noticed that there is a survey on the main page right now. It's asks you a bunch of questions about broadcasting. I'm the dood who writes these surveys, and I'm also the dood responsible for reading each of your replies and wrapping it up into a neat little presentation. I was reading about what you guys look for before answering pages when broadcasting. Here's some interesting details: - Straight men seem to get a lot of pages from gay men. If you're a woman or couple, they will probably respond to you. - Women respond best if what you say in your page is nice. Don't be demanding or rude, don't tell them what to take off next. Get your profiles in order men, they look at that too before responding. - Couples are looking for people who meet what they want (mainly gender, mainly no men). If you are contacting a couple, make sure your profile is complete. How do you decide which page to answer? Here's a breakdown: Men: 1) Gender (39% ) 2) Profile Pic (31% ) 3) What they said (11% ) 4) Location (10% ) 5) Age (9% ) Women: 1) What they said (36% ) 2) Profile/Pic (22% ) 3) Location (14% ) 4) If I know them (9% ) 5) Age (8% ) 6) Gender (7% ) 7) Marital Status (2% ) Couples: 1) Their Profile (31% ) 2) What they say (27% ) 3) Gender (21% ) 4) Location (10% ) 5) If we know them (6% ) 6) Age (5% ) |

I very rarely ever use the IMC mainly because of the types of messages I get, but also the functionality is awful. I won't even attempt it on the stand alone. For me, this is what I look at in this order. 1. If I know them 2. What they say 3. Location 4. Age 5. Marital Status 6. Profile 7. Photo I am not including gender since I don't get pages from women and almost never from couples. Slightly off topic, I don't like that the IMC comes up every time I turn on my cam. I have to ignore pages/hide them behind another window or read nasty stuff when I don't even want the IMC on.

I have to agree with those before me, I do NOT Like that the IMC opens with my cam. I absolutely 'hate' the comments made my the majority i.e. orders of what to do, those orders are most of the time something so disgusting I wouldn't ask my worst enemy to do them. Followed by even if they are initially nice, not picking up immediately and saying hello usually gets one called everything in the book but nice names. Come on guys, you are 'not' the only one watching. And to expect someone to drop everything for 'you' (the royal you) is just beyond ridiculous. I truly do wish I could do this without the IMC on. Being on cam would be more fun. If I wanted a director I would get one. I don't do it to be abused. Now, I hardly ever turn it on.

I will not even use my Cam on this site due to the MALES that are homosexual or bi-sexual sending IM's of "would love to suck your cock" and etc... It would be nice if members could set their Cam and IMC to cupid settings or custom settings. Myself, I would like to block out all male profiles and be able to set the IMC to my preferences of gender, sexuality, age, race, and distance by having custom controls over it as well.

I'm hearing a lot of that feedback in the survey too. It seems like if we could get banning to permanently work, and allow you to have filters based on your cupid settings we would be solving a lot of issues. I seldom turn to the IMC for seeking locals though. Many do, of course. Would it be possible to set it up so that if I am in a chat room, only those in the chat room can page, assuming you can't stop the IMC from coming up with a cam?

I hear this a lot, but just so I'm clear - when you say chat room, do you mean the chat room in a Group? Not the chat room from IMC right? My request would work if one is camming in a group chat room or if it is a site chat room, what I was referring to, like the regional rooms or topical rooms that are accessed via the chat link on the site toolbar. If you can't get the cams and IMC to disassociate from each other, perhaps you can get it where only those in the chat room, group or otherwise, can access the cam and IMC of the member using it. Wherever their name is "logged" in. That could eliminate a lot of unwanted pages and attention.

If the filters on the IMC worked...this would be a mute point...from day one they have never worked. I've taken to opening up the filter preferences to 18-100 and everyone listed...just so I had the option to bounce their ass if they become creepy or rude...and I've had all types be rude and demanding...I'm a tolerant person generaly and converse with all sorts...but it's a stone drag to be paged with what I have come to call the "Perversion of the Week" pages...get the filters working and the problem is solved for the most part.

That's a great thread just too bad guys came out as douches in the statistics  - no wonder its hard to gain woman's trust...
