Ryan, I did not mean to cause such a ruckus here for you, especially the mentioning of how this site is "co-branded" with so many other names. Yes we are all on the same site under many aliases. However that may be, it still causes a lot of controversy. Hell...I have a dick between my legs and only like pussy and being on a Lesbian personal site even though connected to this one as the same is still a conflict of description. It is one thing if all the female members were either straight or bi to being a male member grouped along with them, but we are talking about Lesbians that will have nothing sexual to do with a male. They only want females and females only; furthermore, majority of the Lesbian members of the site feel offended as well. We won't even get into that majority of members are well below the senior citizen age; yet, we are marketed to those that are senior citizens that joined a senior citizen sex site. I tell you honest here Ryan, there are 2 other sites that belong to Various Inc.(Penthouse) that are gay sites that do not interconnect into this one.That is OutPersonals and GayFriendFinder. Why do those not interconnect into this one as the Lesbian does? That is because the lesbian women are also marketed to the members that are male and couples. If OutPersonals and GayFriendFinder were added into the mix of co-brands of this site 70+ percent of males members would delete their accounts and more than likely 50+ percent of couples would delete theirs. Sort of funny how the women wanting to hookup with only women is fine to add to the mix, but not the males that would be looking for only males is it not? The Lesbian sites should had been kept totally separate from this site as the Gay men sites are. The members here would not be so up in arms with being listed on majority of the other co-branded sites as they are with knowing they are also listed on a Lesbian site.

Silver, you and the site can't stop someone from selecting a handle name the same as yours on a different site. Now if they were trying to appear to be you, like using your pics or copying your blog posts, that's a different story. Just as there is another NascarFox out there on the Nascar sites. It's not me and I have no say in this other person using it. I don't have the right to deny someone else from using it on another site.  Nassy, Please reread silver's first paragraph. Who on THIS post lost HER virginity to her male sibiling before entering high school???????Was that story I read true? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Given the large number of sites that are not Various Inc owned/controlled, not to mention how many members are affectrd, that do have our information and material, one really has to wonder if Various either does in fact sanction this behavior either behind the curtains or by lack of proper protection that they claim to provide or even by merely overlooking what is going on. I know the site suspended one affiliate after I reported them, however, how long before that suspension is lifted or that same site creates a new site and carries on with business as usual? I sincerely doubt we will get an answer to this and if we did, what trust can we put in any positive answer given that this goes on and on and on for years?

I have to add this. I do think Earthy has every right to be angry. We all do. It's not your fault Ryan that this situation exists, but you do put yourself out there as a front man of sorts so you are the one that will catch the flack for it. I don't think anyone has a right to assume that just because someone has been a member here for any length of time that it automatically means they know everything that goes on here or out there on the world wide web. That is simply not true. It's not like the site puts out announcements of these things. No one should be told to trot on for Various not living up to it's end of the deal here to provide some decent and reasonable measure of privacy. That is akin to condoning the behavior. While Ryan can't be responsible for being tossed into the lion's den without first being given an understanding and knowledge of this site or any of the other Various workings, it is now his job and he does needs to be brought up to speed. Yes, I'm sure he has more than a plate full on any given day, but more would be accomplished if he was given the time to study and learn about what goes on and how things work. Sorry Ryan, regardless, I think Earthy made very valid points and expressed the thoughts of many that are angry and upset about this issue. I don't believe an apology is in order given that Various has not insured our privacy to any decent degree when they claim to and you are now representing Various in this forum. I will add that Ryan has expressed, in the past, on this blog, that members are allowed to vent. That's what she did folks. She vented.

There is a VAST difference between "venting" and metaphorically stomping one's feet like a three year old having a tantrum because a bug touched them. There is ALSO a vast difference between reasonable discussion which leads to workable solutions and being borderline abusive. "GET THEM OFF!!! I don't care what the TOU says, get them off. Now!!!" is neither conducive to finding a workable solution nor is it conducive to anyone forming any impression OTHER than that the person making those demands is an abusive personality type. One is doing more than merely "stretching" credibility (not to mention being more than a little disingenuous )to claim that someone who has been on the site for years "didn't know" about this issue given the sheer number of posts that have been made in various blogs about it. *I* knew within about 10 days that my profile appeared on multiple sites when I signed up for Affairlook and that was without ever posting the first blog or making the first comment ON a blog or, in point of fact, having any knowledge OF the fact that this site has blogs. Her statements on this blog engender the impression that she has been very aware of the "sister sites" and made a choice to ignore their existence until given the opportunity to vent her spleen in a manner that would get one of MY children a trip to the barn for a "come to Jesus meeting" and an appropriate punishment.

I've been a member two years,bloging for approximately six months. I DID NOT know of this until about three weeks ago when I read the legal report about the class action suit that is being filed.It is a very interesting suit as it does name certain former and existing members,employees(both former and current) and management(both former and current) as cause of action. This should have been stopped long ago... I'm not a "popular blogger" with hundreds of watchers (Do not WANT to be either) AND I'm not all "sweetness and light" (I have something of a reputation for being a bitch ) so nobody pays attention to me (THANK YOU GODDESS!!! ) to start with BUT then again there are only THREE things that I am passionate enough about to "beat the drums" until people listen to start with... Child Abuse, Domestic Violence and Elections.

I don't doubt you at all Silver. I did just do a bit of browsing over there and for the life of me, I can't find your name anywhere and not even when I did a search of it. Maybe they removed it? One might have to enter through the google of your name to find it. I just didn't find your name on the list under users. Funny thing was that when I clicked on a name I knew, but also knew they don't write those kinds of stories, that member wasn't actually listed as the author. I think they have a weird way of doing things. I did find another member and while I believe the story was written here, by her, I don't believe she posted it there. I noticed there are different types of submissions. One where the author directly comments back to someone and one where it looks like they copied the responses from the author here and pasted those comments there. Whatever it is, you can be pretty certain that site is plagiarizing the blog posts from this site and yes, taking handles from this site. I can't determine if they are an affiliate or not. You may want to report them to the site and if they are an affiliate, they can be suspended. I don't really know how much good that does either. The big problem is whether or not we can do anything about it. It appears they've simply taken stories, some from members here and applied them there. It's totally wrong. I don't know the law so I don't know if they can be stopped or not. I do sympathize with you. I would hope this site addressed these issues and can come up with a viable solution. I'm not holding my breath though.

YES! If you delete your profile off of a co-brand site, it will delete it here. So be careful!!! Other than GetItOn, if you can log in with the same handle and password, then you are linked here. Unless you created the same on a separate site like Alt.

Unfortunately, your profile cannot be deleted from those sites because they are all the same site. If it deleted from one, it will be deleted here too. The best way I have found to explain this is thinking of the site as a building with multiple entrances. We may get into the building via different entrances, but we are all in the same building.

my thoughts on this matter are this, if you have a problem with being seen on all these sites then call customer service and make a polite valid complaint, asking for them to take care of it for you. sitting here yelling at one member of the staff, who was apparently thrown out the door to be publicly stoned to death for the deeds of those at the top of the ladder, will not fix the issue. it is not his fault those who run the comany felt this was a good idea and the more collective complaints they get, the more likely they are to change this. Not to mention they are more likely to take a phone call more seriously then these complaints labeled in a blog. i lost my virginity years ago..... but i still have the box.....
