Should we put up an FAQ in advice lines?

Should we put up an FAQ in advice lines?

So, rdy2try4 brought this up again today. I put it on the back burner a few months ago, but we do this right away if you want.

So if I put up an FAQ, it will be sticky in the advice lines. That means it will always take the first spot in the list. So it will eat some real estate on the magazine page, but it will be hard to miss for the newbies.

Here's the top questions I got from you guys back in December:

1. To Shave or Not to shave?
2. Does size matter?
2. Never had anal...What to do? Do women like anal?
3. What are Kudo's?
4. How do I get points?
5. Why didn’t I get laid the minute I signed up?
6. Women spraying (squirting )
7. How do I get my wife to agree to a threesome?
8. Are there any real people on Affairlook?
9. How do I make my cum taste better?
10. Cut or uncut?

I've written some answers to these, but I'm sure you guys could do better. Mine are kinda generic. We can always change/add/drop them over time.

So, should we put this up?
YES
NO

I voted Yes and the dang thing is being squirrelly. Hopefully it will self correct. You are aware that the poll function is still messed up?

I do think there should be two separate F.A.Q.'s or an expanded one. Not many know to look in the help section for many answers and even that needs updating. There is a lot of information that I think will help folks navigate this site better if only it were explained to them.

Sure why not, it never hurts to try something out, if the sticky fails to work out then like you said you can edit it or remove it if need be

It could actually be done in blog format. Each post has one question and members could add their thoughts to each comment. Although I would suggest if you do this, the site monitor the comments so it stays on topic. New members or new information can always be added to the comments.

Then simply post the blog in some way to the main Magazine section. I recommend either above the A/L or at the top on the right above the Writer's section simply because it will be seen as opposed to further down. Although if you don't want to do this, then add it to the Member's Article Section.

I completely disagree. I hang out in the Love Docs chat room and most of the questions he lists here are the same ones you see in A/L and also in Love Docs.

There's going to be at least one abusive twat no matter what part of the site you go to - to completely disregard filling a genuine need because of the abusive action of one person is just crap in my opinion. If anything - this makes the abuse a little more obvious and easier to handle.

The only thing I HAVE to do is eat, shit, and die. Everything else is a choice.

Yeah I think that this should be done, it certainly cannot harm.... but I bet that it only stems the flow. People like individuals to respond to their individual circumstances, even if they can guess that they are being unoriginal... i.e. they want to know what people think now, not what the answer was a bit ago.... However I truly hope that I am wrong and that by posting these generic questions we eliminate the tedious repetition from the A/L....

THANKS SO MUCH RYAN!!

The idea me and my friends had long ago was not only do you have the FAQ list, but there should be a way that if you typed in a question and 'key words' were flagged instead of posting it would default to the FAQ page with the question(s) on it. That way you don't have to take up space all over the place.

I know it is repetitive to see things like "cut or uncut" and "shave or not" but those really are going to be personal preference questions. That is more like a poll than an 'advice' question.

Things like "what are kudos" and "how can I get points" you might want to look into sending out in your "Intro to the site" email that we all get welcoming us. That might help a little. You may possibly even add the "why didn't I get laid the minute I signed up" in the intro letter as well. Possibly say something about it there.

Funny that I note that after 5 years the top questions asked has NEVER changed. Not one bit!!

I would like to update some of my post. The questions that COULD be answered in a FAQ list would have answers similar to what I sent to Ryan directly and we all know them.

EXAMPLE:

Why don't women answer emails?

Standard members can only answer 5-10 emails a day. With that they are usually only going to answer the ones that 'match' what they are searching for. Women get many emails in a day and may not have time to go through all of them. Please read the profiles carefully as many women will not reply if you are again not what they are seeking. Many people are here for different reasons. Reading profiles is essential.

(For those that are going to say standard members can't read profiles, I am aware of that.)

For the 'does size matter' question, you had a wonderful article here on the site written by Victoria Zdrok, Ph.D as well as you DO have it also covered in your own Sex Academy. Those are/were wonderful things that again could be linked to to answer the questions more 'in full' than normal answers. There are also wonderful things that have been written in blogs and in the magazine on the taste of ejaculate, how to make it better, women squirting, etc... You can always link to those things in some way.

There is no way of course you can totally eliminate variables i.e. the techniques of shaving or questions on bumps and types of razors etc... But some things you CAN cut down and without having someone feel rejected or insulted. When I go to a site and find a question in the FAQ list I do not feel unwelcome because they posted it there. I do not feel like someone is criticizing me either.

I will totally agree with Rdy2try4. There ARE SOME things you can cut out with a simple FAQ link. I personally find it 'inane bullshit' too see the same 'does the size of my dick' question when in reality it is what it is and you can't make the damned thing bigger. So you find out that your average size and then what? You find out your smaller or larger. You can't make it bigger, you aren't cutting part of it off. And for me to have to see it 50 fucking times a day is INANE BULLSHIT. I am sure that a link to something can at least cut some of that out.

And I gotta add that I sure as hell don't feel insulted when I see a FAQ list and feel the need to leave as I am rejected by it. roflmao that is a joke at best to say that.

I FOUND IT!! As written by Victoria Zdrok, Ph.D and posted right here on the site.. a simple link to THIS Article from the magazine sponsored BY the site will answer 99.999% of the questions on penis size and how it works, matters, etc...

Does Size Really Matter?

Check it out folks. Come back and say if you think or do not think it will work!! This is a highly informative editorial.

Any way you can get rid of all the profiles that have been inactive for over 3 months,,,come on,they havent logged on in that period of time, its wasted space, but it does make it look like you have more active people on here than you really do.After going through the first 3 pages of searches,,,you get nothing but 3 month or older profiles, where noone has signed it..It sucks.

1. To Shave or Not to shave?

That is a personal preference question that does not hold much water with Medical and University testings and studies.

2. Does size matter?

A definite good one to have. Since many studies have been done that can back this question with facts from Medical and University studies.

2. Never had anal...What to do? Do women like anal?

Again...a personal preference question that does not hold much water with Medical and University testings and studies.

3. What are Kudo's?

Shouldn't that be in the Site Help Section??? Why not have a Site Help/Q&A on the Site Navigational Bar instead of a little tiny text link all the way down at the bottom of the pages where noone hardly sees it. It is one of the major reasons that site pertaining questions are asked in the Advice Lines.

4. How do I get points?

Again...shouldn't that be in the Site Help Section??? Why not have a Site Help/Q&A on the Site Navigational Bar instead of a little tiny text link all the way down at the bottom of the pages where noone hardly sees it. It is one of the major reasons that site pertaining questions are asked in the Advice Lines.

5. Why didn’t I get laid the minute I signed up?

Ryan, you are an employee...that is not what you signed up for...

Seriously...that should prove interesting how Various Inc. would answer that question since it lures it members with advertisement of "Meet Real Sex Partners Tonight", "The wildest online community for hot and sexy hookups", "Meet people looking for sex in (Location)", "Discover Real Sexual Partners Today", "Meet Sexy people who want to Play", "Hook Up Tonight", Sexy couples are waiting to play" etc....

Careful now on that one...you might give yourselves a black eye.

6. Women spraying (squirting)

7. How do I get my wife to agree to a threesome?

What facts other than general opinions and suggestions can be used to answering a Q of this nature?

8. Are there any real people on Affairlook?

No...we are all figments of the imaginations.

9. How do I make my cum taste better?

That would be a good one...there are some tasty recipes to help in that.

10. Cut or uncut?

Although for personal health and hygiene this would have an answer...but when it comes to intercourse...again...a personal preference question that does not hold much water with Medical and University testings and studies.

The main goal and suggestion years ago by many members like Rdy, myself and many others that were highly active in the Advice Lines forums was that the site had a list of Q's & A'a that were backed by Medical Research Universities, Science, major Corporations (i.e. condom manufactures).
Questions like:
"What is the average size penis?"
"Can you get an STD (AIDS) from oral sex?"
"Do\can women ejaculate (Squirt)?"
and etc...that can be backed by proof of studies and researches done.

Some of the Q's you placed in your example if used...you better make sure that there is a disclaimer along with them to protecting Various Inc. as well...

Personally I rather not see Stick Pin Postings in the Advice Lines...my suggestion was a redirecting page when a member clicks on add new question that would display the top 10 commonly asked Q's that are backed by answers with proof of the studies and researches that been done for decades. Not answers from a bunch of self proclaimed know it all from the Advice Lines that have no real credibility.

It is so simple to be done by just adding the 10 most common asked questions to the top of the "add new question" submit form with links of lengthy answers placed in the Magazine site article section.

These are the type of questions that I think the site should put on an F.A.Q. where people can find them easily.

To further quote Nick:

Ryan, you are an employee...that is not what you signed up for...

Maybe not under THIS handle.

EXACTLY MYHEARTLOST4U.. THAT WAS WHY I POSTED THAT LINK TO THE PENIS SIZE QUESTION. That is a medical doctor that KNOWS what she is talking about. And it is irrefutable information. And the links to come up when you click on "add new post" is exactly the idea we wanted.

I like the idea of the links to the sites own editorials. I read that one on the penis size. It is VERY informative on all variations of the question.

It should be done thread style. This means people can read what's been written before and get the answers so they don't post the same question that has been answer a million times before.

It saddens me that as of this writing that the yes votes are 61 and the no votes are 12,this would not be a terrible idea, but I don't think it will do much and it's annoying to have the same thing at the first spot on the list. What is also really annoying is when we get members posting 10 dipshit questions just to get their points,so why not just do away with giving them points for posting ? Standard members will bitch about it,but it seems they are always complaining about one thing or another, and you can do a lot more as a standard or fee member here than you can on many dating/sex sites.

Sunds like you want the site to change the TOU to get the people you don't like or who dare express an opinion that you don't agree with kicked off of the magazine.
Nice copy and paste job with this by the way, although doing that is a bit cheesy

"we believe the majority would agree that more effort be put into getting rid of the people who have become so insensitive and rude toward the majority and are only here to piss and moan about the new members bring fresh ideas to the forum."
  1. I presume you either forgot or are negating that entertainment is a huge marketing tool.

  2. The advice lines are for members to asking questions and for other members to giving advice based upon their experiences and opinions or both.

What do you expect that all Advice Lines members responding to a members Q coddle and comfort that member??? I sure as hell am not...I do not answer questions to wipe someones ass or\and kiss it for them; nor do I expect mine to be wiped or kissed.

On Line Forums like the Advice Lines can be just as much as real like in everyday life realities...This is not Disney or a site to go around la la la pretending the world is a perfect place and the people of it are all like Mr. Rogers and Big Bird.

The ONLY members that should be removed are members violating Various Inc. TOU. I suggest you read them and especially Section 5 and then also Section 7.

I add 1 that in my region they repeat very much, generally the users who alone want to gain points

- Do you prefer the woman, virgin or not the virgin?

In my opinion this is a garbage for the line of advices.
