Garden of the Gods

Our first excursion was to here. I could have spent a week there exploring but we had a lot of things packed into a long weekend, so alas, one day was all I spent in this fairytale landscape.
But we shall be returning next year, for a much longer stay.
Hopefully in a cabin in a State Park.
And hopefully I will be able to hike a lot farther.
But! According to the scales this morning, I was able to shed two pounds this weekend.

Bonus!

It is a beautiful place. Spent 1/2 day there a few years ago and it wasn't near long enough.

I lived in CO for a while and worked there a couple times. I raced there a number of times and camped/backpacked some too. It is a beautiful place much of the year - I'm not a winter person. Enjoy your trips there.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

I dunno...if I were independently wealthy and could afford to rent a fully stocked cabin on Priest Lake for the Winter, I would in a heartbeat. I love the Rockies in all seasons, but I really loved late Spring and early Summer.

Yes, you were right when you said it was breathtaking. I can only imagine what it must have been like to be at one with such wonders of nature.

When I find myself in places like these, I am humbled and amazed by them. The sheer amount of power and force it took to shape this landscape is phenomenal. I have been in love with the Rockies since the first time I ever went there. I would live there if I could. Alas tis not in the cards.

Thank you! I'm in love with the Rockies, I have been since the first time I laid eyes on them. I have traveled the entire length of them and I have yet to be disappointed.
