It's Creamy It's Thick. It's Hot, and I Won't Swallow It!

I know that there has been a lot of talk lately about food around here. Mostly by me. But there are a few things that I just cannot swallow.

I think we can all agree that I may not exactly have a connoisseur's pallet. However, there are some things even I know don't go together. For example, texture. Texture is important in food. I learned that mixing Grape Nuts into an omelette just doesn't work. Wrong texture.

Herbs and spices are important. Mixing garlic, cinnamon, and cilantro just doesn't work. Well on toast at least. You have to be cautious of what you try to blend. Some things just don't play well with others. These are the Hillary Clinton's of food prep.

Which brings me to a food that I just cannot handle. At all. It has a horrid texture. It has a horrid flavor. And it's just wrong. Yep, I'm talking about New's favorite...Mac & Cheese.

The first time I hocked this stuff at a wall I was 5 years old. Nothing has changed since. Now I realize that many people love this crap. My do. Naturally, that prompted an immediate paternity test. They're mine. Must be from their mother's side.
I cannot fix it for then when they're here. Looking at it, smelling, it, hearing it...I retch.

Mac and cheese is just wrong! And by the way, adding blue food coloring doesn't help. This is my number one gag trigger.

I don't make it like the package says, I use spaghetti sauce instead of the butter and milk. Cheesy like pasta.

Peace and love is where it's at.

well they do have those microwave individual servings now

of course the stench from the nuked pasta and cheese lingers for a few hours afterward........
But you could cover that up real quick by cooking some cabbage
or onions and liver

just kidding....

excuse me now....
I have to go stir my cauldron....

be well....
tender hugs....m.

The boxed stuff is like a science experiment gone wrong. Homemade mac n cheese is a whole different story - it's good.

Don't like texture? What's your stand on tapioca?

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

Your right, Mac and cheese is sooooooo gross. What you have to do is substitute the cheese with lard, lots of lard. Then add some blended spam and top it off with some yogurt, Believe me if you hold your breath and squint just right, it's just like having breakfast at Dennys.

As always

Grapenuts are good in yogurt. You have to let it set for a few minutes so the grape nuts are not quite so hard. Did you know you can make hot cereal from grapenuts? Something I don't like the texture of is beef liver and soft non-flakey fish. Like sole and talipia. Not all at once of course.

You haven't had GOOD mac & cheese then, sir. I bake mine, and it's much, much better...I really don't care for the cooked in a pan or microwaved stuff myself...

but add some REAL cheese (sharp cheddar is my preference) layered with some ham and some bread crumbs and you got my favorite dish (or one of 'em anyway)...heated up in a frying pan, it's even better. Yum! Yum!

And lima beans are gross.

But for texture SLIMY is the worst...overcooked cabbage, tomatoes, okra, simply any vegetable that some twit boils until it's limp is just fruckin' disgusting !! And don't get me going on onions. They're the devil's spawn IMO....YUCK!!!

You had to remind me of the stench...ewww. Cheese belongs on ham and macaroni belongs on a kindergartner's cardboard. They don't belong together.

Homemade mac & cheese is as appealing as a homemade rubber mallet and testicles. I like tapioca.

probably

I tried hot Grape Nuts once, didn't care for it. Maybe I used too much lighter fluid.

Baked mac & cheese? Add 20 pounds of gunpowder to the oven...then I might try whatever is left.

It's cottage cheese for me.... eck! Just can't do it. (And tapioca too....)

I make mistakes, I am out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. ~Marilyn
